Latest Exam Pattern for CTET Exam 2016

There are two papers which a candidate is required to answer. Paper I and Paper II both are of two and half hours each. The CTET Exam pattern for 2016 is as follows:

Paper Pattern

The breakup of the paper includes-

Child Development & Pedagogy (30 questions),
Learning & Pedagogy (10 questions),
Understanding Children with special needs (5 questions),
Language I (30 questions),
Language II (30 questions),
Mathematics (30 questions), and
Environment Studies (30 questions).

Is it mandatory to answer all questions?

No, it is not mandatory to attempt all questions. However, to become one of the top candidates you will need to answer as many questions as you can within the given time frame of 2 and half hours. Answering most of the questions will allow you to maintain a lead and even if the cut-off is high, you can expect yourself to be in the safe zone. Nevertheless, make sure that your correct answer ratio always remains healthy.

Points to note while appearing for CTET Exam 2016

  • There are two papers to answer. However, a candidate can give only one paper as well. Paper I paper represents selection of Primary Stage (Classes I – V), whereas Paper II represents selection of Elementary Stage (Classes VI – VIII). A person who is interested in giving only one paper can do so.
  • Every candidate entering the examination hall is expected to carry his/her admit card and show it whenever demanded. It is not possible to give CTET Exam without an admit card.
  • A cut off is decided by the management and candidates whose overall score is more or equal to the cut off would move on to the next round.
  • The centre of examination is mainly Government schools.
