Recently, the recruitment process for IBPS RRB CWE-V has been proposed for a change. The changes will be made in the existing process, that is, Amendment in APR, 2010 recruitment process in RRB. As per the proposal, the following areas will be effected:
The proposal states that the interview process should be handled by either IBPS or any other agency which has been approved by Gol. The selection committee would be independent in nature and selection would be made by NABARD. Additionally, the centre of interview will also be decided by the panel. The number of members present in the selection panel will vary according to the requirement and opinion of the board.
Proficiency in Local Language
Another implied condition which has been proposed is the development of proficiency in local language. A time of 6 months would be given to every candidate to gain some command over the local language. An extension of another 6 weeks is also applicable if the candidate is facing some problems in learning the new language. Candidates who have already learnt the language in Class X’s curriculum or above that would not be required to undergo the screening process.
New Ratio for Interview and Written Test
The existing ratio of 70% and 30 % for written examination and interview, respectively, is being considered to be replaced by 80% and 20%. A candidate’s score in written exam would have 80% weightage and the interview round will have 20% weightage. However, cut offs would remain at the time of determining the candidates who have cleared the written exam.
Merit List for every state
Since different states have different numbers of candidate requirement, the board has suggested to have state-wise merit list. This will make the selection process fair and as per the actual requirement.
Two-Tier Written Examination
It was proposed that RRBs exam should become a two-tier exam. As the number of applicants is huge, it would be feasible to first conduct a preliminary examination and then conduct the main examination. In this way, the non-serious candidates would be first eliminated and only the best ones would be appearing for the later stages.
The clause of deputation has also been brought to the notice. Under this arrangement, lateral entry from PSB quotas would be made. The entries would include Officers from Scale- I to Scale -III. The provisions would be as – 5% of 50% (for Scale – I), 5 % of 25% (for Scale – II) and 5% of 10% (for Scale – III). The posts relating to Scale – IV and above, promotions will only matter.
Abolition of Interview for Junior Levels
n accordance with the decision made by CoS of Cabinet Secretary, the interview round for junior level posts would be discontinued. The decision was made on 13.11.2015. The list of exempted categories also includes clerks and sub-staffs.
