Odisha Civil Services Exam 2023: Age Criteria and Attempts

1. Age Limits:
   • Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years.
   • The upper age limit should not exceed 38 years as of the 1st day of January, 2023.
   • Date of birth boundaries: Candidates must have been born between 2nd January 1985 and 1st January 2002.
2. Relaxations in Upper Age Limit:
   • Relaxation of 5 years is granted for candidates belonging to S.C./S.T./S.E.B.C./Women/Ex-Serviceman categories.
   • Candidates with permanent disabilities of 40% or more (PwDs) are eligible for a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit.

Odisha Civil Services Exam 2023 Plan and Conduct of Examination

The Odisha Civil Services Examination consists of the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination:
   • Objective type examination comprising two compulsory papers of 200 marks each in subjects specified in Schedule-III of OCS(CCRE) (third) Amendment Rules, 2022 (Annexure-IV).
   • Paper-I: General Studies – 200 marks
   • Paper-II: General Studies – 200 marks
   • Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by qualified candidates are not counted for final merit order determination.
   • Approximately 12 times the total vacancies’ number will qualify for the Main Examination.
2. Main Examination:
   • Comprises written and interview stages for various services and posts.
   • Preliminary exam marks are not counted for the final merit list.
