SSC CGL Application Form – Photo & Signature Requirment

As a candidate you are required to keep certain things handy with yourself before you decide to get yourself enrolled with the SSC. The most important ones are:

  • A scanned copy of a recent size color photograph of the candidate which should be in the dimension of 100 x 120 (w x h) and the size should remain in between 4kb to 12 kb.
  • A scanned copy of candidate’s signature which should be in the dimension of 140 x 60 (w x h) and the size should remain in between 1 kb to 12 kb.
  • An online payment facility (optional)

How to Apply? 

The registration process for SSC CGL Exam is based on a two tier system. In the first tier, a candidate’s basic information is absorbed and in the second tier, photograph of the candidate and his signature is taken along with the necessary payment for examination. A simplified version of the registration process is given below:

Step 1- Visit the official website
The first that a candidate should do, is visiting the official website where registrations are being accepted. In our case, it is This website will take allow you to register yourself with the SSC department.

Step 2- Choose your exam

Since you are appearing for the CGL Exam 2017, you would be required to select the same from the given list of links. Once the link has been selected, your registration process will begin shortly.

Step 3- Complete Tier-I of Registration

As soon as you select the option to register to CGL Exam 2017, you would be redirected to a new page where a form would be waiting for you. In that form you would be first required to fill up your basic details such as your name, father’s name, date of birth, etc. The form will be a lengthy one (2 pages), but can be easily managed. In the end, click on the button ‘I Agree’ to have your registration code generated.

Step 4- Use Registration Code to begin for Tier- II Registration

After the first tier is over, you would be required to use your registration code and date of birth to log in and continue with Tier-II registration. In this section, you would be uploading your scanned photograph and signature along with making the payment. If you do not have the option to pay online, then generate a challan and make an offline payment.

After making a successful payment, your registration process is complete and you will be informed about the same through an email and an SMS from the SSC.
