However, the participating candidates must take into account the eligibility criteria before filling up the online application form.
Eligibility Criteria of UPSC CAPF (AC) Exam 2016
The eligibility criteria of UPSC CAPF (AC) exam is divided into four different categories, namely- Eligibility of Nationality, Eligibility of Age, Eligibility of Educational Qualification and Eligibility of Physical Fitness. Complete discussion in respect of them follows below-
- Eligibility of Nationality
This eligibility criterion looks forward to define the limit of nationality for the candidates. As per this criterion, a candidate must be one of the following-
- A subject of Nepal;
- A person of Indian Origin who previously lived in Indian sub-continent or in East Africa and has now come to India for permanent settlement;
- A person belonging to the family of a Tibetan Refugee. However, they must have come to India before 1.1.1962;
- A subject of Bhutan
- A citizen of India.
- Eligibility of Age Limit
This section deals with the minimum and maximum age requirement for the post of CAPF (AC). According to the official notification, the age of the candidates should be in between 20 years to 25 years as on 1. 08. 2016. Nevertheless, there are certain age relaxations for certain reserved group. They are:

|SC or ST||5 years|
- Eligibility of Educational qualification
A candidate has to be literate enough to handle the challenges of Modern India. Hence, the candidates are required to have a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree in any stream, but the same should come from a recognized institute.
- Eligibility of Physical Fitness
The most important eligibility criterion is in terms of having a physically fit body. This exam also includes a test where a candidate’s physical fitness is measured in terms of his efficiency. Candidates who make it to the last round are expected to offer a good performance in this area.

After having checked with the eligibility criteria for UPSC CAPF Exam, candidates who are qualified can move ahead with the online application process. For this, the candidates are required to log on to www.upsconline.nic.in and fill up the online application. The process will book their seats on the date of examination.
I am not qualifying under one eligibility criterion, can I apply?
Sorry, if you are not satisfying all the eligibility criteria, then it is useless to make an application. The UPSC department is very strict in terms of the guidelines and will immediately eliminate a candidate if he/ she is found violating the eligibility criteria. Candidates should take the eligibility criteria section seriously.
