Points to Note:

  • Scope of the Syllabus – The foremost consideration in respect of the syllabus is that the candidates cannot question the authority. There may certain cases where the paper contains questions which do not belong to the aforesaid syllabus. Under that condition, the candidate can either choose to answer the same or leave the question. Nevertheless, there is no provision for the candidate question the authority in respect of the set question paper.
  • Negative marking – The objective type examination will contain negative marking. If a candidate attempts a question and the marked answer is incorrect, then the candidate would lose marks. On leaving a question unattended, a candidate will not attract any negative marks.
  • Use of black ball pen – The notification clearly states that candidates should only use a black ball pen to answer in the OMR sheet. Failing to do so can result in serious loss of marks as the checking system is automated. Additionally, a candidate is not allowed to write anything else on the OMR sheet apart from his roll number and other required information.

UPSC ESE 2016 will be one of the most awaited exam for the engineering candidates. The chance to get associated with the Government of India will extract maximum efforts from the candidates and only the best would make it to the seat.
