Photos & Signature Requirements

The department has ensured that a candidate faces minimum trouble while filling the form through the online portal. This is why minimum requirements have been kept. Before making an online application, just be ready with the following requirements for UPSC IFS exam 2017.

a) A scanned copy of your photograph (passport size). The following requirement should be followed by candidates while uploading photograph.

  • Format: JPG
  • Size: 3kb to 40kb
  • Resolution: 140px Height, 110px Width, 24bit Depth

b) A scanned copy of your signature. The following requirement should be followed by candidates while uploading signature.

  • Format: JPG
  • Size: 1kb to 40kb
  • Resolution: 110px Height, 140px Width, 24bit Depth

c) SBI Net Banking Facility / Credit Card/ Debit Card (optional)/Cash Payment in SBI branch

How to Apply for UPSC IFS Exam 2017 Step by Step?

The process of online application is straight forward. As a candidate, just follow the mentioned steps.

Step 1- Visit the Official Website for UPSC
The first thing that you will do is visit the official website of UPSC. Go to the address bar of your browser and type and hit the enter button.

Step 2- Select the Online Application link

As soon as you visit the website, you will have two options on the center of the page. You are required to click on the 1st link (Part-1 Registration). Clicking on the same will allow you to begin your registration.

Step 3- Click on ‘Part I Registration’

The click will redirect you to a new page where you would be required to select the option of ‘Part I Registration’. In this section you would be required to fill up your basic information and proceed further. However, it should be noted that the mentioned information cannot be changed afterwards.

Step 4- Make Part II Registration

The moment Part I Registration is complete, you will be offered a registration number and profile password. Using this information, you can proceed with Part II registration. Once you begin with the Part II Registration, you will be required to upload your scanned photograph and signature, enter your marks and other details. After entering all the details and rechecking them, click on the submit button.

Step 5- Make Payment

The final step for online application is to make the payment. Hitting the submit button of Part II registration will take you to the payment page where you would be required to pay INR 100 as examination fee. You can use your credit card / debit card or any other online payment facility to complete the transaction and your application process.

Alternatively, you can also take a print out of the challan and submit the same with INR 100 in your nearest SBI bank or any other as mentioned in the notification. The candidates who are paying fee by cash should deposit fee after 24 hours of generation of challain in any SBI branch.

The candidates belong to SC/ST/PH/Female category can skip the payment of fee section.
After complete of submission of form, you must get email contain message of successful submission. If not then check Part-II registration is complete or not.

Important Regarding Payment of Fee

The candidates who belongs to SC/ST/PH category are exempted from payment of for UPSC IFS and Civil Service Exam. The female candidates are also exempted from fee. But the candidates who belongs to general category should pay fee of Rs. 100 by depositing in any SBI branch by cash or by online banking facility of SBI or SBI associates banks.

Candidates who belong to reservation quota need not pay anything for the UPSC IFS examination 2017.
