According to the notification published by UPSC Department, the UPSC SCRA application form should be filled up by 1st week of November 2016. Interested candidates are required to check with the eligibility criteria first and then proceed with the online application. Additionally, there are certain essential requirements which the candidates need to have the time of making the online application. They are:
- A passport size scanned photocopy of the candidate. The size of the image should be in between 3 – 40 KB.
- A scanned copy of candidate’s signature. The size of the image should be in between 1 – 40 KB.
- A facility to make payment online. (Optional)

Applicants are requested to make online registration. This process is not only fast, but very easy. Within a matter of few clicks, a candidate can easily apply and have his / her registration number. The following steps offer a complete guide for making online application for UPSC SCRA 2016.
Step 1- UPSC Website
To commence the process of registration, a candidate is first required to visit the official page of UPSC. By visiting this link, www.upsconline.nic.in, a candidate can find the respective link, whereby, his registration process can commence.
Step 2- Select ‘Online Application…’
When you enter the website, there are two prominent links in the centre of the page, highlighted in blue. From those links, you would be required to select the upper links which begin with ‘ONLINE APPLICATION…’. The other link is in respect of recruitment and hence, should be avoided.
Step 3- Choose Exam and PART I REGISTRATION
Now you will be redirected to the page where candidates can choose their exam and begin with the registration process. In our case, SCRA is the requirements and hence, click on the PART I REGISTRATION column parallel SCRA exam. The page will redirect to a new page, where you can simply scroll down and click on ‘Yes’.
Step 4- Fill in the detail
A new form will appear. This is your PART I REGISTRATION. Fill up your basic details and move ahead by completing the form.
Step 5- REGISTRATION NUMBER & PART II REGISTRATION`
After submitting PART I REGISTRATION, you will have a registration number from the department. Use the same registration number to start your PART II REGISTRATION. This stage is more detailed and a candidate should be ready with information such as marks, ID proof and other details. After checking the information and ensuring that every information is correct in the form, click on ‘Submit’.
Step 6- Payment
The last step is about making payment. It is advised to pay online as it completes the registration process instantly. Nevertheless, you can also take a print out of the challan and deposit the examination at the nearest bank as mentioned in the notification. Once the payment is received by the UPSC Department, your registration process is complete. The department will itself, let you know about the same through an email and an SMS.
