- Qualification: Bachelor's degree of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry or Bachelor's degree of Veterinary Science from a University established under Central/State Act in India or recognized under UGC Act 1956, and recognized under Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 or qualification included in first/second schedule of Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984; Basic knowledge of computer application as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967; Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or Both; Candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to get registered with Gujarat Veterinary Council or Veterinary Council of India under Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 at the time of appointment.

Selection Procedure

- Registration: Candidates appointed by direct selection must register with Gujarat Veterinary Council or Veterinary Council of India under Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 at the time of appointment.
- Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries.
- No Objection Certificate: Candidates serving in Gujarat Government/semi-government/corporation must inform their department within 7 days of applying. Candidates serving in Central/other State Government/Local Bodies/Co-operative Institutions must submit NOC from appointing authority.
- Processing Fee: Unreserved category candidates who have not paid the application fee cannot download the admit card and must pay a processing fee of Rs. 500/- either at GPSC office or online before the exam day.
- Widow Candidates: Widow candidates (who have not remarried) will get 5% additional marks added to their obtained marks as per current government provisions.
