Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Document Verification: Candidates must present all required original/digilocker verified documents at the Selection Trials venue (Tejas Camp, Air Force Station New Delhi, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi) prior to the Physical Fitness Test. Eligibility will be verified prima-facie at this stage and in detail after clearing subsequent stages.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Conducted on Day 1 (08 April 2026). Consists of:
- 1.6 Km Run to be completed within 07 minutes.
- 10 Push-Ups within 1 minute (after 10-minute break post run).
- 10 Sit-Ups within 1 minute (after 2-minute break post Push-Ups).
- 20 Squats within 1 minute (after 2-minute break post Sit-Ups).
- Sports Specific Trials: Only PFT pass candidates are called for sports skill trials conducted at venues decided by AFSCB in Delhi-NCR on Day 2 (09 April 2026) and Day 3 (10 April 2026) for shortlisted candidates.
- Medical Examination: Recommended candidates after selection trials undergo Medical Examination by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards. Documentation for medical examination on 13 April 2026; Medical Examination from 14 April 2026 onwards. Includes baseline investigations: Blood Haemogram, Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (Blood Sugar, Serum Cholesterol, RFT, LFT), Radiograph Chest (PA view), ECG, and any other investigation deemed necessary.
- Appeal Medical Board (AMB): Candidates declared medically unfit can appeal by depositing ₹40/- via e-MRO/MRO and submitting application to 2 ASC, AF within three working days of medical examination.

- Enter Aadhaar number (candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam and Meghalaya are exempted if not having Aadhaar card).

Other Important Information:
- Scheme: Agnipathscheme – Agniveervayu (Sports) Intake 02/2026. Engagement period is FOUR years under Air Force Act 1950.
- Eligibility: Only unmarried Indian male candidates are eligible. Candidates must remain unmarried throughout the four-year engagement period. Agniveervayu (Sports) who marry during the period shall be discharged.
- Regular Cadre: On completion of four years, up to 25% of each batch may be offered enrolment in the regular cadre of IAF as Airmen based on performance and organisational requirements. No right to further enrolment is guaranteed.
- Insurance: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs for the duration of engagement period.
- Seva Nidhi Package: Approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (excluding interest) on exit after 4 years (₹5.02 lakh from Agniveer’s contribution + ₹5.02 lakh from Government contribution).
- No Pension/Gratuity: No entitlement to gratuity or pensionary benefits. Not eligible for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) status after discharge.
- Leave: 30 days annual leave per year; Sick leave as per medical advice.
- Medical Facilities: Entitled to medical facility at Service Hospitals and CSD provisions during engagement period.
- Body Tattoo Policy: Permanent body tattoos are not permitted except on inner face of forearms (inside of elbow to wrist), back (dorsal) part of hand/reverse side of palm, and tribal tattoos as per custom and tradition. Offensive/obscene/indecent/sexist/racist tattoos are prohibited regardless of location.
- LASIK/PRK: Candidates with history of LASIK/PRK will not be accepted.
- Narcotic Drugs: Zero tolerance policy to alcoholism and substance abuse. Consumption of NDPS banned substances is a rejection criterion.
- Doping: Candidates found under influence of performance enhancing drugs during selection trials or before enrolment shall be disqualified immediately.
- NDA/AFCAT: Agniveervayu will be permitted to appear for NDA/AFCAT examinations (maximum three attempts) during their engagement period subject to conditions.
- Release: Release at own request prior to completion of engagement period is not permissible except in exceptional cases with approval of Competent Authority.
- Skill Certificate: A detailed Skill-Set certificate will be provided at the end of engagement period.
