- Written Examination (Main Exam):
- The examination will be conducted in one stage (Main Examination).
- It will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR based examination.
- All questions will be objective and multiple-choice type.
- There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- For Intermediate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Class 1-5):
- Paper-1 (Mother Tongue – Hindi/English/Urdu/Sanskrit): 100 marks, 2 hours. Qualifying in nature (minimum 30% marks required). Marks will not be added to the merit list.
- Paper-2 (Notified Language – Hindi/English/Urdu/Santhali/Bangla/Mundari/Ho/Khariya/Kudukh/Kurmali/Khortha/Nagpuri/Panchpargania/Oriya/Sanskrit): 100 marks, 2 hours. Minimum 33% marks required.
- Paper-3 (General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 50 marks, Child Development & Pedagogy – 50 marks): 100 marks, 3 hours. Minimum 33% marks required in each section.
- For Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Class 6-8):
- Paper-1 (Mother Tongue – Hindi/English/Urdu/Sanskrit): 100 marks, 2 hours. Qualifying in nature (minimum 30% marks required). Marks will not be added to the merit list.
- Paper-2 (Notified Language – Hindi/English/Urdu/Santhali/Bangla/Mundari/Ho/Khariya/Kudukh/Kurmali/Khortha/Nagpuri/Panchpargania/Oriya/Sanskrit): 100 marks, 2 hours.
- Paper-3 (General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 50 marks, Child Development & Pedagogy – 50 marks): 100 marks, 2 hours.
- Paper-4 (Optional Subject – Math & Science / Social Science / Language Teacher): 180 marks, 3 hours. Candidates must answer from any three sections for Math & Science/Social Science. For Language Teacher, 50% questions from English and 50% from one of the notified languages.
- Minimum qualifying marks for merit list consideration:
- Unreserved/EWS: 40%
- SC/ST & Women: 32%
- EBC (Schedule-I): 34%
- BC (Schedule-II): 36.5%
- Primitive Tribal Group: 30%
- Merit list will be prepared based on normalized marks.
- In case of equal marks, older candidates will be given preference.
- Document Verification:
- After the merit list, shortlisted candidates will undergo verification of educational/professional qualifications, caste certificates, local resident certificates, and experience certificates.
- Presence of the candidate with original documents is mandatory.
- Final Selection:
- Final selection will be based on the merit list and successful document verification, subject to fulfilling all eligibility criteria and government rules.

Age Relaxation Rules:
- Minimum age limit: 21 years.
- Maximum age limit:
- Unreserved and Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 40 years.
- Extremely Backward Class (Schedule-I) and Backward Class (Schedule-II) (Male): 42 years.
- Female (Unreserved, EWS, EBC-I, BC-II): 43 years.
- Scheduled Caste (Male and Female): 45 years.
- Scheduled Tribe (Male and Female): 45 years.
- All categories of Disabled candidates will be given an additional relaxation of 05 (five) years in the maximum age limit. Disability certificate must be issued in the prescribed format X by the competent Medical Board constituted by the State Government. Claim for disability will be valid only if the disability is 40% (forty percent) or more.
- Disability certificates issued in a format other than the prescribed format or by an authority other than the competent authority will not be valid.
- Disability certificates issued after the last date of application submission will not be valid.
- If the disability certificate corresponding to the claim made in the application form is not provided during the document verification process by the Commission, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled.
- Ex-servicemen will be given an additional relaxation of five years in the maximum age limit. Proof related to being an ex-serviceman will be demanded by the Commission as and when required, which must be submitted.
- The benefit of age relaxation will be applicable for only one of the above categories (iii) or (iv).
- This relaxation will not apply to candidates whose contract as Special Education Assistant Teacher has been cancelled due to any charge or irregularity prior to appointment. Age limit relaxation will be valid upon submission of experience certificate issued in prescribed format XIII.
How to Apply? (Online):
- Before filling the application form, candidates should download the advertisement and brochure and fill in the information in the application form as per the terms and conditions of the brochure.
- Before filling the application, ensure that all necessary certificates for the application are available with you.
- Keep scanned copies of your photo and full signature ready before filling the application.
- Carefully check all certificates to ensure that your name, father’s name, and other details are correct; otherwise, get them corrected before filling the application.
- Applicants should write their name spelling exactly as it is recorded in the Matric/10th certificate/mark sheet. There should be no difference in the spelling of the name recorded in the Matric/10th certificate/mark sheet and the name filled in the application form. Do not use words like Shri/Mr./Shreeman etc. before the name in the name-related information in the application.
- Applicants should enter the same date of birth (date, month, and year) in the designated place in their application form as recorded in their Matric certificate/mark sheet.
- To fill the online application, first visit the Commission’s website www.jssc.nic.in and click on “Online Application for JIGTSEATCCE-2025”, then complete your registration.
- Upon completion of the registration process, you will receive your registration number and password on your mobile phone and email. Note down and keep the registration number and password safe as both will be required for future logins.
- As soon as you receive the registration number and password, log in again and enter your detailed information. After clicking “Save and Continue” on each page of the application, it is necessary to fill the information on the next page. On the day you complete this task, log in again after 12:00 PM (noon) the next day and pay the examination fee.
- One day after paying the examination fee, log in again and upload your scanned photo and full signature along with the details of your examination fee payment. If you are satisfied with your uploaded photo and signature, submit the application form and take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future reference.
- Before submitting the application form, ensure that the information provided is true; otherwise, the Commission will take a decision on cancelling the candidature and other actions for submitting a false declaration.
- The original copies of certificates related to the information entered in the online application will be verified during the certificate verification program. The presence of the candidate with all original certificates will be mandatory on this occasion. In case of non-compliance, the applicant’s candidature will be deemed cancelled. In case of non-submission of required certificates in support of claims made in the online application, reservation/other benefits will not be admissible, and candidature will be deemed cancelled.
- If a candidate submits more than one online application, the latest submitted application will be considered valid, and all previously submitted applications will be cancelled, and the examination fee for the cancelled applications will be non-refundable.
Guidelines for Uploading Photograph and Signature:
- Before filling the application, keep scanned copies of your photo and full signature ready.
- One day after paying the examination fee, log in again and upload your scanned photo and full signature.
- If there is an error in the photo/signature on the Admit Card, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination. Therefore, candidates must ensure that their photo and signature match in the application form before finally submitting the application.
Other Important Information for Candidates:
- The Commission’s decision on the eligibility or ineligibility of candidates to appear in the examination will be final.
- Carrying mobile phones, pagers, Bluetooth, or any such electronic device inside the examination center is prohibited. If any electronic device is found inside the examination center, the candidature of that candidate will be cancelled.
- Candidates are advised to carry only necessary items for the examination. Maintaining peace and discipline in the examination center premises will be the responsibility of the examinees.
- Admit Card will be uploaded on the Commission’s Website, which candidates will download to appear in the examination. Admit Card will not be sent separately by post. Without Admit Card, permission to appear in the examination will not be granted.
- If there is an error in the photo/signature on the Admit Card, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination. Therefore, candidates must ensure that their photo and signature match in the application form before finally submitting the application.
- All information related to the examination will be officially provided on the Commission’s website.
- Candidates should keep a copy of the online application, bank challan related to examination fee payment, and the Admit Card issued for appearing in the examination safe with them. These documents may be required in the future.
- The Commission reserves the right to change the examination schedule and format due to unavoidable reasons.
- Keep the original copy of the Admit Card safe; it will be demanded by the Commission during the document verification process.
- No examinee will be allowed to go outside the examination center during the examination. No examinee will be allowed to enter the examination center after the examination has started.
- Candidates are advised to thoroughly check the online application form before submitting it so that no error remains.
- Candidates who have been debarred from examinations by UPSC/JPSC/JSSC/other selection commissions for a specified period in cases of unfair means will not be eligible to appear in the competitive examination.
- The Commission reserves the right to cancel a question or award equal marks to all present candidates in case of wrong printing of any question, wrong options, more than one correct option, or difference in Hindi and English translation of a question in the preliminary and main examinations.
- The complete responsibility for the information and entries made in the application will lie with the applicant, and the applicant will be solely responsible for any incorrect information.
- In case of any dispute arising regarding the standard formats of required educational qualification/local resident certificate/caste certificate/income & asset certificate/disability certificate/experience certificate as provided in the brochure, the decision of the Commission will be final.
- Recommendations/appointments under Jharkhand Intermediate and Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher Combined Competitive Examination-2025 are covered by Civil Appeal No.8259/2019 (Arising out of SLP (C) No. 11254 of 2019) Govt. of NCT Delhi & Ors. Vs Pradeep Kumar & Ors.
- In the light of the order passed by the Hon’ble Jharkhand High Court on 17-11-2025 in C.M.P. No. 984/2025, sent with letter no. 2171 dated 27-11-2025 of School Education and Literacy Department (Directorate of Primary Education), Government of Jharkhand, the brochure for Jharkhand Intermediate and Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher Combined Competitive Examination-2025 is being published.
- If a candidate/their parents/guardians are found involved in:
- Providing false information/submitting false certificates/forgery in the application form.
- Adopting illegal methods/copying/making a fake candidate appear in their place in the examination/indulging in misconduct during the examination.
- Gaining a place in the selection list for appointment based on fake certificates/fake identity during counseling for document verification.
They will be liable for the following penalties:
- Candidature of the candidate will be terminated.
- The candidate will be debarred from appearing in examinations conducted by the Commission for the next 2 years.
- In case of a criminal incident, legal action will be taken against the candidate/their parents/guardians, as applicable, as per law.
- Candidature/application of candidates may be cancelled in the following circumstances:
- Candidate’s age not being within the prescribed age limit for appearing in the examination.
- Not fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria including educational qualification.
- Not paying the prescribed examination fee and not following the complete application submission process.
- Not submitting the original copies of required eligibility-related certificates in support of candidature during document verification within the prescribed time limit.
- Copying in the Commission’s examination.
- Fraudulently involving any other person in place of oneself in the Commission’s examination.
- Gaining the right to appear in the examination by providing false facts in the application, which is proven at any time. The Commission reserves the right to decide on this matter.
- Issuance of Admit Card for appearing in the Commission’s examination will not safeguard the candidate’s candidature.
- Before deciding on the cancellation of candidature, the candidate will be given a fair opportunity to present their side, and after due consideration of the entire matter, the Commission will take a lawful decision.
- Information regarding the decision on cancellation of candidature will be provided to the candidate as and when required.
- Within 7 days of the publication of the examination result, any examinee can apply for re-evaluation with a fee of Rs. 500 (Rupees Five Hundred) in the prescribed format. The Commission will process this as soon as possible and inform the examinee.
- In case of a complaint of mass copying/misconduct by candidates at any examination center and its verification, the Commission reserves the right to cancel the examination conducted at that center. In case of cancellation of the examination, it will not be re-conducted.
