Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Basis of Selection: Date of passing the Degree/Diploma in the relevant Engineering/General stream is the primary criterion. Earlier passed candidates will be ranked higher in the seniority list.
- Tie-Breaking Criteria (in order):
- Percentage of marks in Degree/Diploma in Engineering or General Stream
- Percentage of marks in 12th (for Degree holders) / 10th (for Diploma holders)
- Date of Birth (older candidate preferred)
- Two Seniority Lists:
- Level-1 List: Candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh
- Level-2 List: Candidates from all other states (candidates from Western Region of BOAT given preference within this list)
Candidates from Level-2 list will be considered only after exhausting Level-1 list candidates.
- Provisional Selection List: Will be uploaded on the SECL website tentatively in the 2nd week of April 2026.
- Document Verification: Provisionally selected candidates must appear for document verification from 20th April 2026 onwards. Original documents including Degree/Diploma certificates, mark sheets, caste certificate, OBC certificate (issued on or after 01/04/2025), Aadhar card, domicile certificate (for CG/MP candidates), etc. must be produced.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must be found medically fit as per Mines Rules 1955 (for mine-posted apprentices) or Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (for general stream apprentices). Medical fitness certificate must be from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon of a Government Hospital, dated after the notification date.
- Final Enrollment: Training will commence only after successful document verification and medical fitness clearance.

- Fill in all mandatory registration details including Full Name (as per NATS/Degree/Aadhar), Father’s Name, Application Type, Field of Specialisation, Gender, Community, State/UT of Domicile, Date of Birth, Aadhar Number, Mobile Number, Email Address, and Password.
- After registration, log in using your Email ID and Password.
- Complete the online application form in four parts: Basic Information, Educational Details, Photograph/Signature/Aadhar Upload, and Bank Details.

Other Important Information:
- Training Duration: One year (FY 2026-27) under the Apprentices Act 1961 (amended up to date).
- Stipend: Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 12,300/- per month; Technician Apprentice: Rs. 10,900/- per month. 50% paid by SECL and 50% by Government via DBT (Direct Beneficiary Transfer) into Aadhar-linked bank account. Government share will continue at old rates till further directives from BOAT (Western Region), Mumbai.
- Posting: Mining/Mine Surveying apprentices will be posted only in Underground Mines of SECL. Other engineering apprentices will be posted in Opencast/Underground Mines, Workshops, and Establishments. General Stream Graduate Apprentices will be posted in offices and establishments in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
- No Employment Guarantee: Apprenticeship training does not confer any right to employment in SECL. No absorption/employment claims will be entertained under any circumstances.
- No TA/DA: No travel allowance or daily allowance will be provided for document verification, medical examination, or attending training. No accommodation or housing facility will be provided.
- Reservation: SC: 19%, OBC: 17%, ST: 14%, General: 50%.
- Eligibility Conditions:
- Must be registered on NATS 2.0 Portal.
- Must not have undergone apprenticeship training in any other institution earlier.
- Must not have completed employment/service at any establishment for one year or more.
- Must not be pursuing or have completed Postgraduate qualification.
- Must have completed 18 years of age as on 31.03.2026.
- Must not have passed Degree/Diploma more than 5 years before the date of joining as apprentice.
- Only Regular (Full-time) mode of education is eligible. One-year Diploma is not allowed.
- OBC Certificate: OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued on or after 01/04/2025 in the format prescribed for Central Government appointments will only be accepted.
- Seat Modification: SECL management may increase/decrease seats or cancel the entire selection program without prior notice.
- Jurisdiction: In case of any dispute, it will be resolved in Bilaspur Court only or before officials/bodies referred to in the Apprentices Act 1961.
