- Qualification: (i) 12th class pass with Biology as a subject from a recognized Board. (ii) Certificate course of minimum one year in Laboratory Assistant Course from a recognized institution. (iii) Working experience of minimum one year as Lab Assistant in Laboratory Diagnostic Centre or hospital or institution lab recognized by Central/State Government.

- Qualification: (i) 12th class pass from a recognized Board. (ii) Certificate course of minimum one year in Physiotherapy from a recognized institute. (iii) Experience of minimum one year as Physiotherapy Assistant from a Physiotherapy Centre or minimum hundred bedded hospital or institute recognized by Central/State Government.

- Qualification: (i) 10th class pass from a recognized Board. (ii) First Aid certificate course from St. John's Ambulance Organization or Red Cross Society of India. (iii) Experience of minimum one year as Nursing Assistant in a minimum fifty bedded Hospital or Institution recognized by Central/State Government.

Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Stage I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)
PET:- Head Constables (Laboratory Assistant & Physiotherapy Assistant): Male – 800 Meter race in 4 minutes; Female – 1.6 Kms in 6 Minutes 30 Seconds.
- Constables (Nursing Assistant Cum Medic): Male – 4.8 Kms Race in 24 minutes; Female – 2.4 Kms Race in 18 minutes.
PST: Candidates must meet minimum height and chest measurements as per prescribed standards. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET but must appear in PST.
- Stage II: Written Examination (Computer Based Test)
- Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant & Physiotherapy Assistant): 3 hours, 150 marks, 150 MCQs. Part-I (50 Marks): General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English/Hindi. Part-II (100 Marks): Technical Subject. Negative marking: -0.25 for wrong answers.
- Constable (Nursing Assistant Cum Medic): 2 hours, 100 marks, 100 MCQs. General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English/Hindi. Negative marking: -0.25 for wrong answers.
- Stage III: Documentation & Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME)
Candidates shortlisted up to 3 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) based on written examination marks will be called for Document Verification and DME/RME. - Final Selection: Merit list drawn on the basis of marks obtained in Written Examination. Tie-breaking: (a) More marks in Part-II (Technical Subject) for Head Constable posts; (b) Older candidate ranked higher; (c) Alphabetical order of name (English).

Other Important Information:
- Nature of Posts: Temporary but likely to continue. Group-C, Non-Gazetted, Combatised, Non-Ministerial.
- Service Liability: Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India or outside the Territory of India and will be governed by SSB Act & Rules.
- Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan may also be appointed with prior permission of the Central Government.
- Reservation: 10% vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen. SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates fulfilling UR eligibility criteria may apply against UR category where no vacancies are reserved for their category.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years; Ex-Servicemen – 3 years after deduction of military service; Departmental Candidates (Central Govt. Employees) – up to 40 years (UR), up to 45 years (SC/ST); J&K/Ladakh domicile (1980-1989) – 5 years (UR), 8 years (OBC), 10 years (SC/ST); Children/dependents of 1984 riot victims – 5 years (UR), 8 years (OBC), 10 years (SC/ST).

- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in recruitment tests. Unemployed SC/ST candidates appearing in written test will be reimbursed fare as per relevant rules on production of Rail/Bus tickets, original caste certificate, and Non-employment certificate.
