Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2024 –  Important Instructions

One Time Registration and Online Application: Candidates must apply online via the official Commission’s website www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.in. To begin, candidates need to register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website. After registration, candidates can proceed to fill out the online application for the examination. If already registered, candidates can directly fill out the online application.

Application Correction Window: After the submission deadline, the Application Correction Window will be open from 4.3.2024 to 6.3.2024, allowing candidates to edit details in their online application. It’s crucial to note that after the Application Correction Window period concludes, no modifications will be allowed.

Post Options: Candidates can choose preferences for various posts in the online application, including Forest Guard, Forest Guard with Driving Licence, Forest Watcher, and Forest Watcher (Tribal Youth) in the Tamil Nadu Forest Department under the Tamil Nadu Forest Subordinate Service. Candidates should carefully select post options based on their preferences.

Banned Items:

Items Not Allowed: Except for permitted writing material (Black-ink ballpoint pen), candidates are prohibited from bringing cellular phones, electronic or calculators of any kind, watches, rings with inbuilt memory notes, Bluetooth devices, communication chips, recording devices, or any other electronic/non-electronic items into the examination hall/room.

Consequences of Violation: Candidates found with banned items risk not being allowed to write the examination, along with invalidation of the answer sheet and potential debarment or rejection of candidature. A thorough physical search, including frisking, may be conducted if necessary.

Advisory: Candidates are strongly advised not to bring any banned items, including mobile phones, to the examination venue, as arrangements for safekeeping cannot be assured.

Knowledge in Tamil Requirement:

• Candidates must possess adequate knowledge in Tamil on the date of this Notification.
• Adequate knowledge includes passing SSLC/HSC/Degree with Tamil as a language, studying High School Course in Tamil medium, or passing the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
• Upload/produce SSLC/HSC/Degree/PG Degree mark sheets or proof of passing the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil.
• Failure to provide proof of Tamil knowledge may result in the requirement to pass the Second Class Language Test within two years from the date of appointment or face discharge from service.

Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2024 – Online Application Process

How to Apply Online:

1. Website:
   • Candidates should apply through the Commission’s website: www.tnpscexams.in / www.tnpsc.gov.in
2. One Time Registration:
   • Register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform on the Commission’s website.
   • Pay Rs.150/- as registration fee.
   • Successfully registered OTR is valid for five years.
   • During OTR, upload scanned images of a recent photograph (20 KB – 50 KB) and signature (10 KB – 20 KB).
3. One-Time Registration Details:
   • OTR is not an application but a collection of candidate information for a profile dashboard.
   • Valid e-mail ID and mobile number are mandatory.
   • Linking Aadhaar number with OTR is mandatory.
   • Details include SSLC Register Number, Certificate Number, Month and Year of Passing, Medium of Instruction, and Board’s Name.
   • Aadhaar details are submitted only for authentication.
4. One-Time Registration (OTR) Edit:
   • Candidates can edit OTR details by uploading supporting documents.
   • Changes must be made before submitting the online application.
   • Incorrect OTR particulars may result in application rejection.
5. Online Application:
   • Click “APPLY” against the post on the Commission’s website.
   • Use the same User ID and Password from OTR.
   • Retrieve/reset User ID and Password using “FORGOT PASSWORD” and “FORGOT USER ID” options if needed.
6. Photograph and Signature Upload:
   • Upload a recent color photograph (20 KB–50 KB) taken on or after the notification date.
   • Photograph specifications: Passport size, white background, frontal view, both ears and part of the neck visible.
   • Signature specifications: Draw a box (6.0 x 2.0 cm) on white paper, sign within using blue or black ink, scan to obtain 200 DPI resolution, crop to show only the box (10 KB –20 KB).
   • Clear images of the photograph and signature must be uploaded in the correct dimensions and format.
   • Improper images may lead to application rejection.
