Selection Procedure

- Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025): Candidates must have appeared in PET-2025 and been issued a score card by the Commission. Shortlisting for the Main Examination will be done based on normalized scores of PET-2025 (up to 15 times the number of vacancies category-wise, including all candidates up to the last cut-off normalized score up to 2 decimal places). Candidates with zero or negative absolute/normalized score in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted.
- Main Written Examination: One question paper of 100 objective/multiple-choice questions, duration 2 hours (120 minutes), total 100 marks. Negative marking: 25% (1/4 mark) for each wrong answer. The exam consists of:
- Part-1 (Subject Knowledge): 40 questions – Information related to CPCB/UPPCB, Environmental Awareness, Analytical Ability & Data Interpretation
- Part-2 (Computer & IT): 15 questions – Concepts of Computer and Information Technology, contemporary technological development and innovation
- Part-3 (UP General Knowledge): 20 questions – General information related to the State of Uttar Pradesh
- No Interview: Selection is based solely on the written examination as per UP Group ‘C’ Direct Recruitment Rules, 2015 and UP Lower Level Posts Direct Recruitment (Abolition of Interview) Rules, 2017.
