Selection Procedure:

  1. Stage I – Screening Test: Objective type test (for most non-Group A posts).
  2. Stage II – Proficiency/Skill Test / Subjective Test: This stage varies by post. For some posts, it’s a qualifying Proficiency/Skill Test. For others (Superintendent, Senior Assistant, Junior Assistant), it’s a descriptive written-cum-skill test, and selection is based on its merit.
  3. Interview: For Group A posts (Librarian, Senior Scientific/Technical Officer, Scientific/Technical Officer, Executive Engineer), selection is based on interview performance. An objective/skill test may be conducted before the interview if required.

How to Apply Online:

  1. Facility for submission of online application will be available from 24.01.2026 to 01.03.2026.
  2. Applicants may visit the Institute website at https://vnit.ac.in/recruitment for the online application portal link.
  3. Detailed instructions for application registration, payment of fees, guidelines for scanning and upload of documents, photograph capture, do’s and don’ts of photo capture, scanning and uploading of photograph/ signature, etc., are available in the online application portal.
  4. Applications will be accepted only through online mode only. Only one application should be submitted for one post. Application fee should be remitted for each post applied.
  5. After submitting the online application form, candidates are required to take print/ save copy of the online application form and preserve it till the certificate verification/all the selection process is completed.

Refundable Caution Deposit:

  • A mandatory caution deposit of ₹1000 is prescribed for all candidates being called for the Objective Test.
  • The caution deposit will be refunded to candidates who participated in the Objective Test after declaration of results.
  • It will be forfeited for absentees.
  • Wherever Objective Test is not conducted for any post, Caution Deposit will be refunded to all candidates who applied for that particular post, after selection process is completed.
  • Candidates applying for multiple posts should submit separate applications and remit fee and caution deposit for each post.

Identity Verification for Examination/Interview:

  • Candidates must bring Call Letter along with original and a photocopy of currently valid photo identity proof (bearing exactly the same name as on call letter).
  • Accepted Photo IDs: PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving Licence, Voter’s Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, Photo identity proof issued by a Gazzetted Officer on official letterhead, Photo identity proof issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead, valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized College/ University, Aadhar card/ E-Aadhar Card with a photograph, Employee ID, Bar Council Identity Card with photograph.
  • Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are not valid ID proof.
  • Name on call letter must exactly match name on photo identity proof. Female candidates who changed name post marriage must note this.
  • In case of name change, original Gazette notification / original marriage certificate / affidavit in original must be produced.

Scribe Guidelines for Persons with Disabilities:

  • Visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently can use their own scribe at their cost during the online examination.
  • The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the same examination.
  • A person acting as a scribe for one candidate cannot be a scribe for another candidate.
  • Both candidate and scribe must give an undertaking confirming eligibility criteria for a scribe.
  • Candidates using a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination.
