Deputy Director Sainik Welfare (Class-1, Gazetted, Group-A, Job Trainee)

- Qualification: Should be a retired/released Ex-Indian Army Commissioned officer of the rank of Colonel/Lt Colonel/Major/Captain or equivalent status of the Indian Navy/Air Force. Desirable: Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
- Age Limit: Below 57 years (as on 01.01.2026). Age relaxation as per Government instructions for reserved categories.

Selection Procedure

- Stage 1 – Objective Type Screening Test (Paper-I): Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of 1 hour duration, 100 marks, consisting of MCQs with negative marking (0.25 per wrong answer). Subjects: General Knowledge of HP (30 marks), General Knowledge of National & International Affairs (30 marks), Hindi Language (20 marks), English Language (20 marks).
- Stage 2 – Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (Paper-II): 3 hours duration, 120 marks, as per syllabus decided by the Commission. Minimum pass marks: 45% for General category, 40% for reserved categories.
- Stage 3 – Personality Test: 30 marks, held at the Commission’s office at Shimla. Minimum pass marks: 40% (12 marks) for General category, 30% (9 marks) for reserved categories.
Note: If the ratio of eligible candidates to posts is 6 or below, candidates may be directly called for Personality Test. If ratio is below 20, candidates appear only for Paper-II followed by Personality Test. Final merit is based on SAT (120 marks) + Personality Test (30 marks).

- Recruitment is governed as per the scheme for engagement of job trainees on fixed amount vide Department of Personnel’s notification No. Per(AP)-C-B(15)-3/2024 dated 19th July, 2025.
