Selection Procedure:
- Preliminary Examination (for screening only)
- Comprises two objective type papers: General Studies (100 Marks) and Civil Services Aptitude Test (100 Marks).
- Each paper is of two hours duration and bilingual (English and Hindi).
- One fourth (0.25) mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Civil Services Aptitude Test (Paper-II) is a qualifying paper with minimum 33% marks.
- Result of preliminary examination based on marks obtained in Paper-I only, provided 33% marks scored in Paper-II.
- Each question has five options (A, B, C, D, E). Darken A, B, C or D for attempting, E for not attempting. One fourth (0.25) mark deducted if none of the circles is darkened.
- Disqualification if none of the five circles is darkened in more than 10% questions.
- Preliminary Examination is for shortlisting candidates (12 times the advertised vacancies) for the Main Examination. Marks from Preliminary Examination will not be counted towards final selection.
- Main Written Examination
- Comprises six conventional (essay) type papers, each of three hours duration: English (100 Marks), Hindi (100 Marks), General Studies-I (100 Marks), General Studies-II (100 Marks), General Studies-III (100 Marks), General Studies-IV (100 Marks).
- Answers can be written in Hindi or English, except for language papers. No candidate permitted to answer partly in Hindi and partly in English in any paper.
- Candidates must write papers in their own hand. Scribe allowed for Visually Handicapped or Locomotor Disability (OH) with prior Commission permission.
- Candidates must attain 45% marks in aggregate of all written papers and minimum 33% marks each in English and Hindi Language to be called for Personality/Viva-voce test. This limit may be lowered to 35% for PwBD if sufficient candidates are not available.
- Personality Test / Viva-voce (75 Marks)
- Candidates thrice (three times) the number of advertised posts will be called for Personality Test.
- Interview conducted by a Board to assess suitability for public service, mental caliber, intellectual qualities, social traits, interest in current affairs, mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.
- The technique is a natural, directed, and purposive conversation.
The final selection shall be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the Main Written Examination and Personality / Viva-voce Test (out of 675 marks), considering the preference of services exercised by candidates. In case of equal marks, higher marks in Main Written Examination will be preferred, then older age.

How to Apply:
- Candidates must register online by visiting https://hpsc.gov.in.
- Register online using Mobile Number & Aadhar Number.
- A login ID will be created after registration.
- Apply against the advertisement using login ID as per qualifications.
- Ensure Aadhar Card data is updated for verification.
- Aadhar Number/Virtual ID (VID) is required for Aadhar authentication during Biometric attendance.
- Submit the application form by making payment of requisite fee.
- Take a printout of the application form, check, sign, and upload it online.
- Failure to upload a signed copy of the downloaded application form will result in rejection.

- Scanned copies of degrees and mark sheets of Educational Qualifications.
- Scanned copy of DSC/OSC certificate of Haryana as per classification of the SC Category given in notification dated 13.11.2024.
- Scanned copy of BC-A (Non creamy Layer) & BC-B (Non creamy Layer) certificate issued on or before the closing date in the year 2025-26, as per Govt. instructions dated 22.03.2022 & notifications dated 16.07.2024.
- Scanned copy of EWS certificate valid for year 2025-2026 as per Govt. instruction dated 25.02.2019.
- Scanned copy of DESM certificate for the year 2025-26.
- Scanned copy of ESM/DFF certificate.
- Scanned copy of PwBD Certificate. (For PwBD).
- Scanned copy of Aadhar card.
