How to Apply:

  • Candidates must create an account on the official RRB websites.
  • Use a valid personal mobile number and active email ID for OTPs.
  • Details in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and email ID) cannot be changed later.
  • Identity authentication using DigiLocker or Aadhaar is strongly advised for smoother verification.
  • Fill the online application form with correct information and re-check before submission.
  • Choose the medium of examination (English, Hindi, or 13 regional Indian languages).
  • Select only one RRB/Railway Zone and indicate post preferences within that chosen zone.
  • Submit only one application to the selected RRB/Railway Zone. Multiple applications will lead to rejection.
  • Capture a live photograph during application; do not upload a pre-existing photo.
  • Upload scanned signature (black ink on white paper, running handwriting, 30-49 KB, 140×60 pixels).
  • SC/ST candidates requesting free travel pass must upload their certificate (PDF, less than 400 KB).
  • Pay the examination fee online through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI.
  • Modification window for corrections (except account details and chosen Railway) is available from 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026 with a non-refundable fee of ₹250 per modification.

Documents for Document Verification:

  • All original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies.
  • Scanned copies (in true colour) of Photo & Signature uploaded through the portal https://oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv before DV date.
  • All certificates should be either in English or Hindi. If not, self-attested translated version (in Hindi/English) should be produced.
  • Requisite/relevant certificate in original from the competent authority, in the prescribed format for reservation/age-relaxation claims (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/ExSM/CCAA/PwBD).
  • Educational Qualification Certificates (Provisional or Regular) with date of issue. If date of issue is after closing date, then consolidated marksheet with date of declaration of final qualifying exam or individual marksheets of all semesters/years with date of declaration of each semester/year result should be submitted.
  • Certificate indicating date of declaration of result from the Board/University/Institute if date is not available on other certificates.

  • Live Photo Capturing:
    • No pre-existing photograph upload.
    • Captured live by webcam or mobile front camera.
    • Dress in non-white, preferably dark colours for contrast.
    • Camera at eye level, look straight, neutral expression.
    • Entire face clearly visible and centered.
    • No cap, mask, or glasses/spectacles.
    • Preview and retake if not satisfied.
    • Do not take a picture of a printed or digital pre-existing photograph.

Posting Location:

Ordinarily, a Railway servant shall be employed throughout service on the Railway or Railway establishment in which he/she is posted on first appointment and shall have no claim as a right for transfer to another Railway or another establishment. However, a Competent Authority can transfer the Railway servant to any other department or Railway establishment, including a project in or out of India, in the exigencies of service. No request for transfer to other Railway would be registered till the newly appointed candidate completes at least 5 to 10 years of service. Candidates are thus advised to choose their Railway with due care and consideration.

Scribe Assistance:

  • Facility of scribe is available for persons with benchmark disabilities in categories of Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arm affected – BA), and Cerebral Palsy, if desired.
  • For other benchmark disabilities, scribe facility requires a certificate from a Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care institution confirming physical limitation to write.
  • PwBD persons with less than 40% disability but difficulty in writing can also avail scribe assistance with a certificate.
  • Candidates eligible for scribe must opt for it in their online application and arrange for the scribe at their own cost.
  • Scribes must register with RRBs at rrbapply.gov.in and provide their One-Time Registration (OTR) Number during a 5-day window after the Modification Window closes.
  • Educational qualification of the candidate’s own scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination.
  • A scribe cannot assist more than one candidate in the same examination, and a candidate cannot act as a scribe for another candidate in the same CEN.
  • Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to candidates permitted to use a scribe, or to eligible candidates who choose not to avail a scribe.

Important Notes on Medical Standards:

  • Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgery procedure to correct refractory error are not eligible for posts having Medical Standards A-2 & A-3.

  • Candidates must submit a declaration in Annexure-VII during DV if they have undergone corrective eye surgery.
  • Candidates found medically unsuitable for opted post(s) will not be given any alternative appointment.

  • There will be negative marking (@1/3rd mark for every wrong answer) in CBTs.

Banned Items in Exam Centre:
