Selection Procedure

- 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I): Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates). 100 questions covering Mathematics (30), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), General Awareness (15), General Science (30). Negative marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS-40%, OBC(NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. This is a screening test; normalized scores used for shortlisting for CBT-II (15 times community-wise vacancies).
- 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II): Duration: 120 minutes (160 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates). 150 questions covering General Awareness (15), Physics & Chemistry (15), Basics of Computers and Applications (10), Basics of Environment and Pollution Control (10), Technical Abilities (100). Negative marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS-40%, OBC(NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. Merit Index calculated for combined merit list across disciplines/Exam Groups.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisting based on normalized marks in CBT-II. Number of candidates shortlisted equals number of vacancies (1:1 ratio). Original certificates to be produced.
- Medical Examination (ME): Candidates must pass prescribed medical fitness tests as per the medical standard applicable to the opted post(s). No alternative appointment for medically unfit candidates.
