Part A – Online Examination (Two Phases):
Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online):

- Sections: English Language (30 marks, 20 min), Reasoning Ability (35 marks, 20 min), Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks, 20 min)
- Candidates must qualify each section; approx. 15 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Main Examination
Phase II – Main Examination (Online):
- Objective Test: 3 Hours, 250 marks (5 sections for Generalists, 6 sections for Specialists)
- For Generalists: Reasoning (50), General Awareness (50), Quantitative Aptitude (50), English Language (50), Computer Knowledge (50)
- For Specialists: Reasoning (40), General Awareness (40), Quantitative Aptitude (40), English Language (40), Computer Knowledge (40), Technical/Professional Knowledge in relevant discipline (50)
- Descriptive Test: 30 minutes, 30 marks – Essay (10), Précis (10), Comprehension (10) – qualifying in nature, marks not counted for shortlisting for Interview

Part B – Interview:

- Final merit list prepared in descending order of consolidated marks

- Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India or subjects of Nepal/Bhutan or Tibetan refugees (came before 01.01.1962) or persons of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with intention to permanently settle in India.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years; PwBD (Gen/EWS) – 10 years, PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 years, PwBD (OBC) – 13 years; Ex-Servicemen – 5 years; Defence personnel disabled in operation – 3 years; Existing confirmed employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies – 8 years. Maximum age after relaxation not to exceed 45 years.
- Probation Period: 1 year from date of joining; extendable twice by 6 months each (up to 1 year). Officers must pass the non-life ‘Licentiate Examination’ conducted by Insurance Institute of India during probation for confirmation.
- Guarantee Bond: Selected candidates must serve for a minimum of 4 years including probation. Liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary if resigned before bond period. Stamped Bond with two sureties required.
- Service Conditions: Candidates may be posted/transferred anywhere in India. Minimum stay at initial posting – 5 years. Specialist Officers may be required to continue in same specialization for minimum 10 years. Company Secretaries primarily posted at Head Office, Kolkata.
- Benefits: Pension under New Pension Scheme (PFRDA), Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Company/leased accommodation as per norms.
