Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:

  • Stage 1 – Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025: Candidates must have appeared in and obtained a valid score card from the PET-2025 conducted by UPSSSC. Shortlisting for the Main Examination will be based on normalized scores of PET-2025. Candidates with zero or negative scores are not eligible.
  • Stage 2 – Main Written Examination: A single objective-type, multiple-choice question paper consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes). There is a negative marking of 25% (0.25 marks) for each wrong answer. The exam is divided into 3 parts covering General Studies, Computer & IT, and UP State General Knowledge.
  • Stage 3 – Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document/record verification. Candidates will be required to provide preference of posts at this stage.
  • No Interview: Selection is based on written examination merit as per the UP Group ‘C’ Direct Recruitment (Interview Abolished) Rules, 2017.
  • Final allocation of posts will be based on merit, post availability, educational qualification for the post, and age limit, as per the preference given by the candidate.
