- Physical Test (Sharirik Janch Pariksha): Includes 1 Mile Run, High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put. Marks are awarded as follows:
- 1 Mile Run (Rural/Non-Technical Urban – Male): Within 5 min: 20 marks; 5-6 min: 10 marks; Above 6 min: Disqualified.
- 1 Mile Run (Rural/Non-Technical Urban – Female): Within 8 min: 20 marks; 8-10 min: 10 marks; Above 10 min: Disqualified.
- 1 Mile Run (Technical Urban – Male): Within 6 min: 20 marks; 6-8 min: 10 marks; Above 8 min: Disqualified.
- 1 Mile Run (Technical Urban – Female): Within 8 min: 20 marks; 8-12 min: 10 marks; Above 12 min: Disqualified.
- High Jump and Long Jump: Marks awarded on a sliding scale based on distance achieved.
- Shot Put: 16 lbs for male, 10 lbs for female; minimum distance required.
- Hindi Writing Ability Test (Qualifying): Candidates qualifying the physical test must appear in Hindi Writing Ability Test. Standard: 7th class level for Rural Home Guard, 10th class level for Urban Home Guard. Full marks: 100, Pass marks: 30. This is qualifying in nature.
- Technical Proficiency Test (Qualifying – Only for Urban Technical Category): Candidates passing the Physical Test and Hindi Writing Test must appear in Technical Proficiency Test. Full marks: 100, Pass marks: 30. This is qualifying in nature.
- Merit List: After all tests, a merit list will be prepared as per the provisions of the notification. Selected candidates’ documents, medical examination, and police character verification will be conducted. After being found suitable, basic training will be given as per orders of Headquarters, Jharkhand Grih Raksha Vahini, Ranchi. Upon successful completion of training, enrollment certificate will be issued.
- Sports Bonus Marks: National level: 1st-6 marks, 2nd-4 marks, 3rd-2 marks; State level: 1st-3 marks, 2nd-2 marks, 3rd-1 mark.
