  • Minimum Age: 18 years for all candidates.
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years; OBC (NCL): 3 years; PwBD: 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST); ESM: as per GoI rules. Internal MFL employees: 5 years irrespective of category. Maximum age after all relaxations shall not exceed 55 years.
  • Qualification: All essential qualifications must be full time and recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Technical Board/AIU or equivalent. Minimum 65% marks required (relaxable to 55% for SC/ST/PwBD in reserved vacancies). Part-time/correspondence/distance/private study qualifications not considered except for CA/CMA/CS posts.
  • Experience: Only relevant post-qualification experience including training period will be considered. Experience certificate indicating date of joining, scales of pay and period of experience must be submitted.
  • Emoluments: Pay fixed at minimum of applicable pay scale. Additional benefits include IDA (presently 53.4% of basic pay), HRA, Cafeteria (presently 33% of basic pay), medical reimbursement, uniform, Accident Insurance, PRP, Gratuity, PF, Superannuation etc.
  • Probation: 6 months from date of joining.
  • Posting: Candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India as per MFL’s requirement.
  • Application: Candidates can apply for only one post. Multiple applications will be summarily rejected.
  • Travel Allowance: Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed to and fro travel expenses: Post codes 1-17: Up to First A/C Rail fare or Air fare (limited to First A/C Basic Rail fare of premium trains); Post codes 18-39: Up to Second A/C Rail fare.
  • OBC (NCL) Certificate: Must have been issued on or after 01.04.2025.
  • EWS Certificate: Must have been issued on or after 01.04.2025 and valid for financial year 2025-26.
  • PwBD: Permanent disability with minimum 40% degree required. UDID card must be produced.
  • Jurisdiction: Any dispute will be settled in Courts within the jurisdiction of Chennai only.
  • Documents: All selection-related documents will be preserved only for a period of two years from the date of publication of results.
