Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Phase 1 – Written Examination (Online CBT): Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in Hindi language. Duration: 2 hours, 100 questions, 100 marks. Subject-wise distribution: General Knowledge & Logical Reasoning (40 marks), Intellectual Ability & Mental Aptitude (30 marks), Science & Simple Arithmetic (30 marks). No negative marking. Result declared on Percentile basis.
- Phase 2 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Conducted by Police Department under supervision of Selection Committee formed by DGP. Maximum 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 30 out of 100. Events include 800m Run, Long Jump, and Shot Put for both male and female candidates. Candidates scoring at cut-off percentile (7 times the advertised vacancies) from Phase 1 are called for PET.
- Document Verification: All original documents verified at the time of Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates found ineligible in document verification will be disqualified even if they qualify Phase 1 and PET.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by District Medical Board. Standards include vision (6/9 and 6/12 without glasses), no knock-knee or flat foot, no physical disability, etc.
- Character Verification: As per Home Department, MP Government order.
- Final Merit List: Prepared on the basis of combined marks of Phase 1 (T-score/Normalised) and Phase 2 PET marks. Tie-breaking: proportionate marks first, then age (older candidate preferred).
- Waiting List: 15% of advertised vacancies will be kept as waiting list, valid for 1 year or till next exam result, whichever is earlier.
