Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
The recruitment for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor in Group-B of Odisha State Prosecution Service shall be conducted in three stages:
1. Preliminary Examination (100 Marks):
- Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ Pattern) with OMR Evaluation or Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark. Duration: 2 hours.
- Negative marking: 25% marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Un-attempted questions: Zero marks.
- Qualifying marks to be decided by the Commission for each category.
- Candidates qualifying will be shortlisted for Main Examination (not more than 10 times the total vacancies per category).
- Marks in Preliminary Examination will NOT be counted in the final Merit List.
2. Main Examination (650 Marks):
- Written Examination (600 Marks): 4 Papers, each carrying 150 Marks. Subjective and Descriptive Answer type. Duration: 2.5 to 3 hours per paper.
- Personality Test/Interview (50 Marks): Candidates shortlisted in ratio 1:2 (minimum 5) with reference to vacancies per category.
3. Select List:
- Final Merit List prepared based on marks in Written Examination and Personality Test/Interview combined.
- In case of tie, candidate with higher marks in Written Examination placed higher. Further tie resolved by date of birth (older candidate placed higher).
