  • ALP: Computer Based Test (CBT) → Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) → Document Verification (DV) → Medical Examination. Merit list prepared with 50% weightage for CBT marks and 50% for CBAT score.
  • Technicians: Computer Based Test (CBT) → Document Verification (DV) → Medical Examination.
  • Junior Engineers (JE): Computer Based Test (CBT) → Document Verification (DV) → Medical Examination. Merit Index calculated across different Exam Groups for combined merit list.
  • Train Manager: Computer Based Test (CBT) → Document Verification (DV) → Medical Examination.
  • CBT Details: Objective Multiple Choice Type questions in English and Hindi only. Negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer. Normalization of marks for multi-session exams.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks (CBT): UR – 40%, OBC (NCL) – 30%, SC – 30%, ST – 25%. Relaxation of 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage.
  • Shortlisting for CBAT (ALP): Candidates equal to 8 times the number of ALP vacancies per community shortlisted for CBAT. Minimum score of 42 marks required in each test battery of CBAT.
  • Shortlisting for DV: Candidates equal to 1:1 ratio of notified vacancies in order of merit per community category.
  • Tie-breaking: In case of equal marks, older candidate placed higher; if date of birth is also same, relevant rules apply.

  4. Fill in Personal Information: Name, Father’s name, Date of Birth, Community, e-mail Address, mobile number, AADHAAR number, Identification Marks, Address, etc.

  • Eligibility: Only serving regular employees of N.F. Railway (except RPF/RPSF) are eligible. Employees who resigned or transferred to other railways will not be considered.
  • Non-Eligible Candidates: Employees in higher grade than the notified post; those without requisite educational qualification/medical standard/age criteria; Trainees/Substitutes not regularized; RPF/RPSF personnel; Law Assistants, Catering Inspectors & Accounts Cadre; candidates awaiting results of final examination.
  • Safety Category Posts: As per RBE 72/2017 & RBE 112/2018, employees working in lower or same grade (including those availing higher level under ACP/MACP) can apply.
  • Reservation: SC/ST/OBC-NCL reservation applicable. No EWS reservation. PwBD horizontal reservation applicable. OBC certificate must not be older than one year at the time of document verification.
