Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Stage I – Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will be tested for minimum height and chest measurements as per prescribed standards (varies by category/region). Candidates not meeting minimum standards will be rejected.
- Stage II – Written Examination (Computer Based Test):
Total: 150 marks, 3 hours duration, 150 multiple choice objective type questions.- Part-I (50 Marks): General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English/General Hindi
- Part-II (100 Marks): Technical Subject
Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for Gen/EWS/OBC/Ex-SM; 45% for SC/ST.
Final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written examination. - Stage III – Documentation & Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME):
Candidates up to 3 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted based on written exam merit for document verification and DME/RME. - Final Selection: Final merit list prepared category-wise after completion of RME. Tie-breaking: (a) Higher marks in Part-II (Technical Subject); (b) Senior in age; (c) Alphabetical order of names in English.

- Post Type: Group-C, Non-Gazetted, Combatised, Non-Ministerial. Posts are temporary but likely to continue.
- Pension: Selected candidates will be covered under Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (NPS) w.e.f. 01 Jan 2004 or Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) w.e.f. 01 April 2025 as applicable.
- Nationality: Indian citizens only. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan may also be appointed with prior Central Government permission.
