Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Stage I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Male: 4.8 km race in 18 minutes; Female: 2.4 km race in 24 minutes. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET.
- Stage I: Physical Standard Test (PST) – Candidates must meet minimum height and chest requirements as per category and post. Candidates not meeting standards will be rejected.
- Stage II: Written Examination (Computer Based Test – CBT) – 2 hours duration, 100 marks, 100 multiple choice objective type questions covering General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning & General English/General Hindi. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS/OBC/Ex-Servicemen; 45% for SC/ST. Final merit will be based on written examination marks only.
- Stage III: Documentation & Skill Test – Candidates up to 20 times the vacancies (category-wise) based on written exam merit will be called for document verification. Skill Test is of 50 marks; minimum qualifying marks: 60% for all categories. Trade test is qualifying in nature and marks will not be included in final merit.
- Stage IV: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME) – Candidates up to 3 times the vacancies (category-wise) based on written exam merit will be called for DME. Candidates declared unfit in DME may appeal for RME. Decision of RME Board is final.
- Final Selection – Final merit list prepared category-wise based on marks in written examination after completion of RME. In case of equal marks, senior in age will be ranked higher; if DOB is also same, alphabetical order of names (English) will be used.

- Total Vacancies: 827 posts across 11 categories of Constables (Group-C, Non-Gazetted, Combatised & Non-Ministerial).
- Reservation: 10% vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen. UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST categories as applicable.
- Nationality: For Constable (Washerman, Barber, Water Carrier, Waiter, Tailor, Gardener, Cobbler): Citizen of India only. For Constable (Driver, Veterinary, Carpenter, Nursing Orderly): Citizens of India; subjects of Nepal or Bhutan also eligible with prior Central Government permission.
