Selection Procedure

- Part-I: Written Examination (500 Marks)
- Paper I – General Medicine and Paediatrics: 250 Marks (120 MCQs – 96 from General Medicine, 24 from Paediatrics), Duration: 2 hours
- Paper II – Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine: 250 Marks (120 MCQs – 40 from each part), Duration: 2 hours
- Both papers are objective (MCQ) type, set in English only.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd of marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Part-II: Personality Test / Interview (100 Marks)
- Candidates qualifying the written examination will be called for Interview/Personality Test.
- Tests General Knowledge, academic ability, intellectual curiosity, judgement, leadership, and personality traits.
- Final Merit: Based on aggregate of Written Examination + Personality Test (Total 600 Marks). Tie-breaking: Written total marks → Senior in age → Earlier internship completion date → Commission’s discretion.

- Examination Centres: 48 centres across India including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bareilly, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dispur, Faridabad, Gangtok, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Meerut, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), Prayagraj (Allahabad), Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Udaipur, Visakhapatnam. - PwBD Reservations: 34 vacancies in CHS (17 for OA/OL/BL/OAL/CP/LC/DW/AAV + 17 for SLD/MD); 18 vacancies in Railways ADMO (Locomotor Disability OA/OL/BL/LC/AAV without joint involvement); NIL for NDMC; 2 for MCD (0 Locomotor, 1 SLD, 1 MD).
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years; OBC: 3 years; Defence disabled in operations: 3 years; Ex-servicemen (5+ years service): 5 years; ECOs/SSCOs (extended beyond 5 years): 5 years; PwBD: 10 years.
- Scribe Facility: Available for PwBD candidates with blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), and cerebral palsy. Other PwBD categories eligible with certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent. Scribe qualification must not exceed minimum qualification of the exam but must be matriculate or above.
- Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for eligible PwBD candidates.
- Mobile Phones Banned: Use of mobile phones, pagers, electronic devices, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, pen drives, or cameras is strictly prohibited at examination venues.
- Face Authentication: Mandatory face authentication at examination venue for all candidates.
- Pratibha Setu Portal: Non-recommended candidates who appeared in Personality Test may opt-in to have their biodata shared with registered private/public organizations for employment purposes.
