- Part-I: Written Examination (500 Marks)
- Paper I – General Medicine and Paediatrics: 250 Marks (120 MCQs – 96 from General Medicine, 24 from Paediatrics), Duration: 2 hours
- Paper II – Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine: 250 Marks (120 MCQs – 40 from each part), Duration: 2 hours
- Both papers are objective (MCQ) type, set in English only.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd of marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Part-II: Personality Test / Interview (100 Marks)
- Candidates qualifying the written examination will be called for Interview/Personality Test.
- Tests General Knowledge, academic ability, intellectual curiosity, judgement, leadership, and personality traits.
- Final Merit: Based on aggregate of Written Examination + Personality Test (Total 600 Marks). Tie-breaking: Written total marks → Senior in age → Earlier internship completion date → Commission’s discretion.
