Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Two-Tier Examination System: Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025) and have been issued a score card by the Commission are eligible to apply for the Main Examination.
- Shortlisting for Main Exam: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main (Written) Examination based on their normalized score in PET-2025 on merit basis. Up to 15 times the number of advertised vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted, including all candidates up to the final cut-off normalized score (up to 2 decimal places).
- Main Written Examination: One question paper with 100 objective/multiple-choice questions; duration 2 hours (120 minutes); each question carries 1 mark; negative marking of 25% (1/4 mark) for each wrong answer.
- Exam Pattern: Part-1: Statistics & related subjects (75 questions, 75 marks); Part-2: Computer & IT concepts (15 questions, 15 marks); Part-3: General information related to Uttar Pradesh (20 questions, 20 marks). Total: 100 questions, 100 marks.
- Normalization: If the exam is held in more than one shift/day, normalization of scores will be done as per the provisions published on 22 May 2019.
- No Interview: Selection is based solely on the written examination as per UP Group ‘C’ Direct Recruitment Rules 2015 and UP Lower Level Posts Direct Recruitment (Abolition of Interview) Rules 2017.
