Selection Procedure

  • Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared in descending order based on marks/percentage obtained in SSC/12th (HSC/10+2)/Graduation. In case of a tie, candidates will be ranked by age in descending order.
  • Weightage of Marks:
    • SSC: Maximum 10 marks (Above 90% – 9 marks; 80-90% – 8 marks; 70-79% – 7 marks; 60-69% – 6 marks; 50-59% – 5 marks; Below 50% – 4 marks)
    • 10+2 (Intermediate): Maximum 10 marks (same scale as SSC)
    • Graduation: Maximum 10 marks (same scale as SSC)
    • Total: Maximum 30 marks
  • Document Verification (DV): Selected candidates as per the Merit List will be called for Document Verification at APCOB Head Office, Vijayawada in August 2026 (tentatively).
  • Local Language Test: Candidates who cannot produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet evidencing study of Telugu will be required to pass a local language test during Document Verification. Failure to qualify will result in disqualification.

Other Important Information

  • Nature of Engagement: This is an Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and NOT an employment. Apprentices will NOT be treated as employees of the Bank and will not be entitled to any employee benefits.
  • Period of Training: One Year
  • Place of Training: Selected branches/Head Office of the Bank in Andhra Pradesh as per Bank’s discretion.
  • Stipend: ₹15,000/- per month total (Bank pays ₹10,500/-; Government pays ₹4,500/- via Direct Benefit Transfer). No other allowances/benefits are applicable.
  • Working Hours: As applicable to the clerical cadre of the Bank. No overtime is permitted.
  • Leave: One Casual Leave per month of apprenticeship; maximum 3 casual leaves at a time. No other type of leave applicable.
  • Eligibility Conditions: Candidates should not have undergone apprenticeship in any other organization or be currently pursuing apprenticeship. Candidates with one or more years of training/job experience after graduation are not eligible.
  • Certification: On completion, apprentices will receive a Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) from the National Council after passing a proficiency test. An Apprenticeship Certificate jointly issued by APCOB and BFSI SSC will also be awarded.
  • No Employment Obligation: Completion of apprenticeship does not entitle the apprentice to any employment in the Bank, nor is the apprentice obligated to accept employment.
