Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): A Common Recruitment Examination (CBT) will be conducted for Electrical and Civil branches jointly with APTRANSCO, APEPDCL, APCPDCL, and APSPDCL. A separate examination will be conducted for Mechanical and Electronics branches in APGENCO. The CBT will be conducted from 22.08.2026 to 29.08.2026 with a duration of 3 hours. The test will be in English only. There are no negative marks.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: OC/EWS – 40%, BC – 35%, SC/ST/PwBD – 30%.
- Normalization: Normalization procedure/technique will be adopted for preparation of merit lists.
- Merit List Preparation: Merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in CBT. In case of tie, older candidate is ranked higher; if age is also equal, the candidate who acquired the prescribed educational qualification earlier is ranked higher.
- Certificate Verification: Candidates included in the merit list in a 1:1 ratio against notified vacancies will be called for certificate verification.
- Final Selection List: After certificate verification, a provisional selection list will be prepared and published on the official website. Allotment to utilities and zones will be based on merit, reservation, local candidature, availability of vacancies, and preferences exercised by candidates.
- Induction Training: All selected candidates will undergo Induction Training for 3 months at Training Institute/Dr. NTTPS before posting.

- Bond Period: Selected candidates must execute a Service Bond to serve APGENCO for a minimum of 5 years after completion of the 2-year probation period (total 7 years). Original certificates will be deposited with APGENCO during the bond period.
- Liquidated Damages: Candidates leaving during probation must refund emoluments received plus Rs.5,00,000/-. Candidates resigning before completing 5 years post-probation must pay Rs.10,00,000/-.
- Probation Period: 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years.
