Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:

Computer Based Test (CBT): A Common Recruitment Examination (CBT) of 3 hours duration will be conducted for all posts (AEE/Electrical, AEE/Civil, AEE/Telecom) from 22.08.2026 to 29.08.2026. The exam will be in English only. Total marks: 100 (Core: 70 marks + General Intelligence & Reasoning: 5 + General Awareness: 7 + English Language & Comprehension: 5 + Quantitative Aptitude: 8 + Computer Knowledge: 5). There are NO negative marks.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: OC/EWS: 40%, BC: 35%, SC/ST/PwBD: 30%.
Normalization: Normalization procedure/technique will be adopted for multi-session exams.
Initial Key & Objections: Initial key will be published after CBT. Candidates can file objections online within 7 days. An expert committee will dispose of objections and publish the final key.
Merit List Preparation: Merit list prepared based on CBT marks. In case of tie, older candidate ranked higher; if age is also equal, the candidate who acquired the prescribed qualification earlier is ranked higher. Merit list prepared in 1:1 ratio against notified vacancies following Rule of Reservation and roster points.
Certificate Verification: Candidates in the merit list (1:1 ratio) will be called for verification of original certificates. Candidates found ineligible will be disqualified and the next eligible candidate will be considered.
Selection List & Allotment: Final selection list prepared after certificate verification. Bond Period: Selected candidates must execute a Service Bond to serve APTRANSCO for a minimum of 5 years after completion of the 2-year probation period (total 7 years). Original certificates (Degree, Date of Birth, Community) must be deposited with APTRANSCO during the bond period.
Liquidated Damages: Leaving during probation: Refund of emoluments received + Rs.5,00,000/-. Resignation before completing 5 years post-probation: Rs.10,00,000/-.
Field Posting Requirement: Appointed candidates must work in field offices (MRT, Line Maintenance, Sub-station Maintenance, Construction Divisions) preferably in rural/remote locations for a continuous period of not less than 5 years from the date of initial appointment. No transfer requests to office/HQ postings will be entertained during this period.
Reservation: Vertical reservations for SC (Gr-I, II & III), ST, BC (A, B, C, D & E), EWS. Horizontal reservations: 33⅓% for Women; 4% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Zone-wise Vacancies: Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Vijayawada, Amaravati, Kadapa, Kurnool.
