For Tax Assistant and Stenographer Grade-II (Two-Phase Process):
- Phase 1 (Shortlisting): Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on sports/games achievements as per the merit scoring table. For Tax Assistant, candidates equal to 4 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted. For Stenographer Gr.-II, 10 candidates will be shortlisted.
- Phase 2 (Skill Test): Shortlisted candidates must appear for a post-specific skill test at O/o the Pr. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, 1st Floor, Aayakar Bhawan, Rajaswa Vihar, Bhubaneswar-751007 at their own expense. Tax Assistant: Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour. Stenographer Gr.-II: Dictation @ 80 wpm for 10 minutes; Transcription 50 minutes (English) / 65 minutes (Hindi) on computer.
- Final merit list will be prepared based on sports achievement scores subject to qualifying the skill test. A waiting list of 10 candidates (Tax Assistant) and 5 candidates (Stenographer Gr.-II) will also be maintained.

- 65 Sports Disciplines are eligible including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Wrestling, Yoga, and many more.
- Certificate Authorities: Only certificates from Secretary of National Federation (International), Secretary of National/State Federation (National), Dean of Sports of University (Inter-University), Director of Public Instructions (School), or SAI designated officer (Khelo India Games) will be accepted.
