Selection Procedure

The detailed selection procedure has been mentioned in the official notification of MPESB Group 5 Recruitment 2026. But we are giving you here the short summary of the selection procedure. The candidates are advised to refer to official notification for selection procedure.

Selection Procedure:

  • Online Written Examination: A single objective-type question paper of 100 marks will be conducted online. The exam will be held in two shifts starting from 15-04-2026.
  • Paper Pattern: The paper consists of two sections: (a) General Knowledge, General Hindi, General English, General Mathematics, General Science, General Aptitude – 25 marks; (b) Technical Grade based questions – 75 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Normalization: In case the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, results will be prepared using Normalised Equi-Percentile (NEP) scaling technique.
  • Merit List: A merit/preference list will be prepared based on percentile scores obtained by candidates.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% for Unreserved category; 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Divyang (with 10% relaxation); 40% for EWS (with 10% relaxation as per Govt. order).
  • Document Verification: Will be conducted by the concerned department after the merit list is published.
  • Final Appointment: Will be issued by the concerned department after verification of all documents and eligibility criteria.

  7. Upload all required documents including educational qualification certificates, caste/category certificate, disability certificate (if applicable), etc.
  8. Pay the application/portal fee online via Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking, or through authorized MP Online Kiosk.
  9. Submit the application form and note down the Application Form Number for future reference.
  10. Download and keep a copy of the submitted application form and payment receipt.
  11. Modifications in the application form can be made between 13-03-2026 and 01-04-2026 by paying the modification fee.
  12. Admit card can be downloaded from the Board’s website using the Application Form Number.

Other Important Information

Reservation: ST – 20%, SC – 16%, OBC – 27% (subject to court order), EWS – 10%. Horizontal reservation: Women – 35%, Divyang – 6%, Ex-Servicemen – 10% (Class III).

Exam Centers: Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Neemuch, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sidhi, Ujjain.

Aadhaar Mandatory: Aadhaar registration is compulsory. Multi-level biometric verification will be done at the exam center.

Identity Proof: Candidates must bring original photo ID (Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, or Passport). E-Aadhaar is valid only if verified by UIDAI.

Employment Office Registration: Live registration in the Employment Office of Madhya Pradesh is mandatory for all candidates.

Contractual Employees: Contractual employees with 5 years of continuous service on equivalent posts are eligible for 50% reserved seats under contractual employee quota.

Validity of Merit List: The waiting list will be valid for 1 year from the date of result declaration or until a new result is declared, whichever is earlier.

Baiga/Sahariya/Bhariya Tribal Candidates: These candidates must apply directly to the concerned department in hard copy (not to ESB) for non-executive posts.
