Selection Procedure

- There will be no interview. Selection will be based on merit.
- Graduate Apprentice: 20% weightage to 10th Class marks + 20% weightage to 12th/Diploma (whichever is higher, in case of both) + 60% weightage to aggregate in Engineering/Graduation/PG (whichever is applicable) in relevant subject. Total = 100 marks.
- Diploma Technician: 30% weightage to 10th Class marks + 70% weightage to Diploma in Engineering. Total = 100 marks.
- ITI Technician: 30% weightage to 10th Class marks + 70% weightage to ITI in concerned Trade. Total = 100 marks.
Preference in Selection:
- First preference: Candidates belonging to Project Affected Families of respective Project/Power Station/Unit.
- Second preference: Candidates belonging to concerned district(s) of the State(s)/UTs where the Project/Power Station/Unit is located.
- Third preference: Candidates belonging to the State(s)/UTs where the Project/Power Station/Unit is located.

Other Important Information:
- Apprenticeship training duration is 01 year, extendable up to 02 years as per Apprentice Act, 1961.
- Candidates awaiting results of qualifying examination or those who have already undergone apprenticeship training of 01 year or more are not eligible.
- Candidates must apply for only one region/state/trade. Multiple applications will be summarily rejected.
- Applicant must be an Indian citizen and at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Shared bachelor accommodation may be provided at the training location. If not provided, an additional payment of Rs. 2,500/- per month will be made.
- A Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) amount of Rs. 4,000/- for Diploma Apprentices and Rs. 4,500/- for Graduates will be provided by Govt. of India under NATS scheme (inclusive in stipend wherever applicable).
- Candidates must have an active Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account.
- Leave entitlement: 1 day Casual Leave per completed month (max 12 days/year), 15 days Medical Leave, 20 days Extra Ordinary Leave.
- Any invention/discovery/work created during training will be the sole property of NHPC.
- NHPC reserves the right to terminate apprenticeship at any time for absenteeism, indiscipline, misconduct, poor performance, or violation of company policies.
- The Apprentice shall have no claim for extension of training and/or employment in NHPC.
- Reservation as per Apprentice Act 1961 will be followed.
