  1. Computer Based Online Test (CBT):
    • Part-I (Qualifying Test of Punjabi Language): 50 objective type (MCQ) questions on Punjabi Language. Minimum 50% marks (25 out of 50) required to qualify. Failure to secure minimum marks in Part-I will disqualify the candidate from being considered in the final merit list.
    • Part-II (Main Examination): 100 objective type (MCQ) questions comprising: Technical Questions related to concerned discipline (50 Qs), Punjabi Language Knowledge (20 Qs), General Knowledge (10 Qs), Reasoning (10 Qs), and Arithmetic (10 Qs). Part-II is bilingual (English/Punjabi) except Punjabi language questions.
    • Each correct answer carries 1 mark. No negative marking.
    • Total exam duration: 3 hours (180 minutes).
    • Minimum qualifying marks in Part-II: General Category – 25%; Reserved Category – 20%.
    • In case of tie in marks, higher age candidate will be placed at higher merit.
    • Normalization of marks will be applied if exam is conducted in multiple shifts.
  2. Document Checking: Candidates who qualify the online test will be called for document checking to verify eligibility criteria (qualification, age, reservation certificates, etc.).
  3. Final Selection/Offer of Appointment: Candidates found eligible after document checking will be placed on the selection panel and issued offer of appointment by the appointing authority.
  4. Training: Selected candidates may be deputed for 6-month Classroom and On-the-Job training.

  • Probation Period: 3 years or as per Punjab Government instructions from time to time. During probation, only minimum admissible pay (Rs. 19,900/-) will be paid without any Grade Pay, Dearness Allowance, annual increment or other allowances (except TA and medical reimbursement as per entitlement).
  • Reservation: Reservation of posts for reserved categories (including Women reservation) is applicable for Punjab Domicile candidates only. Punjab Domicile proof must be produced during document checking.
  • Women Reservation: 1005 out of 3000 posts are reserved for women as per Punjab Civil Services (Reservation for Women) Rules 2020. If vacancies reserved for women remain unfilled, they shall be filled from eligible candidates other than women in the respective category.
  • Age Relaxation: SC/BC – 5 years; Physically Handicapped – 10 years; Widows/Divorced/Separated Women – upper age limit 40 years; Ex-servicemen – as per Punjab rules; PSPCL/PSTCL/Punjab Govt. employees – to the extent of service rendered.
  • EWS Category: Family income less than Rs. 8.00 lacs per annum. Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26 valid for FY 2026-27 is mandatory.
  • Validity of Selection Panel: One year from the date of approval of 1st selection panel by the competent authority. Waiting list ceases after expiry of panel validity.
  • Joining: Candidates issued appointment letter will be given 21 days to join. A final notice of 21 days will be given if not joined on scheduled date. Failure to join within stipulated time will result in automatic cancellation of appointment letter.
  • No TA/DA: No travel allowance or daily allowance will be paid for journeys performed for online test/document checking/counseling.
  • Prohibited Items in Exam Hall: Mobile phones, cellphones, handbags, purses, electronics/non-electronics instruments, ornaments, etc. are strictly banned in the examination complex.
