Junior Engineer (Civil)
- No. of Vacancies: 7 (SC-0, ST-1, OBC-1, EWS-1, GEN/UR-4)
- Qualification: Minimum 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering with 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR Degree in Civil Engineering with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD) from a recognised University/Institute/Board. Experience: At least 2 years for Diploma holders or 1 year for Degree holders in civil construction/maintenance work, OR 1-year graduate apprenticeship in a PSU.
- Age Limit: 20 to 30 years as on 01/04/2026 (Born between 02/04/1996 and 01/04/2006). Relaxation: SC/ST - 5 years; OBC - 3 years; PwBD - 10 years (GEN/EWS), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST); Ex-Servicemen - service rendered + 3 years (max 50 years); Widows/Divorced Women - up to 35 years (40 for SC/ST).

Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Online Examination (300 Marks): Tentatively scheduled on June 06, 2026. The exam consists of:
- English Language: 50 Questions, 50 Marks, 40 Minutes
- Engineering Discipline Paper I: 40 Questions, 100 Marks, 40 Minutes
- Engineering Discipline Paper II: 40 Questions, 100 Marks, 40 Minutes
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 Questions, 50 Marks, 30 Minutes
- Total: 180 Questions, 300 Marks, 150 Minutes
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Candidates provisionally selected from the online examination will undergo LPT in the Official/Local Language(s) of the respective zone. LPT is mandatory and no exemption is granted.
- Document Verification & Medical Fitness: Final selection is based on performance in the online examination (merit order), qualifying LPT, medical fitness, and verification of certificates.
Important Notes:
- Negative marking: 1/4th marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Candidates must qualify each section of the objective test separately.
- Approximately 5 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for LPT.
- If held in multiple sessions, scores will be equated using IBPS’ equipercentile normalization method.

- Visit the Bank’s official website www.rbi.org.in and click on the recruitment link ‘Recruitment for the Post of Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical) – Panel Year 2026’.
- Click on ‘Click here for New Registration’ and enter your name, contact details, and email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
- Fill in all required details in the online application form including personal, educational, and experience details.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as per specified guidelines.
- Verify all details carefully before clicking ‘COMPLETE REGISTRATION’ as no changes are permitted after this step.
- Proceed to the Payment tab and pay the requisite examination fee/intimation charges online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, or Mobile Wallets.
- On successful payment, an e-Receipt will be generated. Take a printout of the e-Receipt and the Application Form.
- Candidates may also use the DigiLocker integration to provide access to credentials/documents on a voluntary basis.

Other Important Information:
- Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens or eligible subjects/persons as per specified categories (Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, persons of Indian origin from specified countries).
- Mode of Application: Online only via www.rbi.org.in. No other mode accepted.
- Edit Window: A 2-day edit window will be provided after the closing date to modify limited fields (Exam Centre, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name) on payment of ₹200/- (inclusive of GST).
- Examination Centres: Candidates must select centres corresponding to the zone applied for. The Bank reserves the right to allot any centre.
- Perquisites: Bank accommodation (subject to availability), knowledge updation allowance, briefcase, furnishing allowance, dispensary/medical facilities, festival advance, Leave Fare Concession, housing and personal loans at concessional rates, Defined Contribution New Pension Scheme, and Gratuity.
- Posting: Initially posted within the Recruitment Zone applied for; liable to be transferred to any zone (East, West, North, South, Central).
- Mobile Phones/Electronic Devices: Strictly banned inside examination premises. Violation leads to disqualification and ban from future exams.
- Calculators: Not permitted in examination premises.
- Biometric Verification: The Bank may conduct biometric/other verification at any stage during or after selection.
- PwBD Candidates: Visually Impaired candidates (40%+ disability) eligible for magnified font and 20 minutes compensatory time per hour. Scribe facility available as per RPwD Act, 2016 guidelines.
- Ex-Servicemen: Only candidates released/retired or whose SPE is likely to be completed on or before 01.05.2027 are eligible. Must join the Bank on or before 01.05.2027 if selected.
- Jurisdiction: All legal proceedings shall be instituted only in Mumbai courts/tribunals/forums.
- Corrigendum: Any corrigendum will be published only on the Bank’s website (www.rbi.org.in).
- Staff Candidates: The post is also open to existing Bank employees satisfying eligibility criteria; they are exempted from examination fee/intimation charges.
