- Reservation: Reservation benefits are available ONLY to native domicile residents of Bihar. Candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved/General category.

- Women Reservation: 35% horizontal reservation for women domiciles of Bihar as per Resolution No. 12575 dated 09.07.2025. Domicile Certificate must be in the name of father, not husband.
- PwD Reservation: 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per UGC Regulations and Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. Disability Certificate must be verified by a Government Medical College and Hospital.
- Freedom Fighter Dependents: 2% horizontal reservation for grandsons/granddaughters/maternal grandsons/maternal granddaughters of freedom fighters receiving Central Government pension, as per Letter No. 2526 dated 18.02.2016.
- Married Women: Caste/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate must be issued in the name and address of father, not husband. For EWS, Income and Asset Certificate is issued from husband’s permanent residence, but residential certificate from father’s permanent residence is also required.
- NET Exemption: Candidates selecting ‘None (NET Exempted)’ must upload a valid NET Exemption Certificate (Five Point Certificate) from their Ph.D. university.
- University Preferences: Exactly 10 unique university preferences must be selected. No changes allowed after final submission.
