- Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): Objective Multiple Choice Type. 4 Parts – General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs, 25 Marks), General Knowledge & General Awareness (25 Qs, 25 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs, 25 Marks), English Comprehension (25 Qs, 25 Marks). Total: 100 Questions, 100 Marks. Duration: 1 Hour (with sectional timer of 15 minutes per part). Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer. NCC certificate holders get bonus marks.
- Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET): Mandatory but qualifying in nature. Includes height, chest, and weight standards. PET includes 100m race, 1.6 km race, long jump, high jump, and shot put (for males); 100m race, 800m race, long jump, and high jump (for females). Ex-Servicemen are exempt from PET but must pass PST.

Difficulty level higher than Paper-I.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME): Mandatory but qualifying in nature. Includes vision, physical fitness, and other medical standards.

- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in. Note: OTR from the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) will not be functional on the new website.
- Candidates are advised to opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication during OTR for a smoother process.
- After OTR, fill in the Online Application Form for the Examination on https://ssc.gov.in or through the ‘mySSC’ mobile application (available on Google Play Store).
- A real-time/live photograph will be captured during the application process. Ensure good lighting, plain background, no cap/mask/spectacles, and face fully visible.
- Upload scanned signature in JPEG format (10–20 KB), dimensions approximately 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/RuPay Debit Card) by 01.10.2026 (23:00 hrs). Women, SC, ST, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempted from fee.
