Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Shortlisting for Written Exam: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination based on their Normalized Score in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025). Category-wise 15 times the number of advertised posts will be shortlisted (including all candidates with the same normalized score up to 2 decimal places at the cutoff).
- Stage 1 – Written Examination (Main Exam): One question paper of 100 objective/multiple-choice questions; total marks 100; duration 2 hours. Negative marking: 25% (1/4) of marks for each wrong answer. Subjects: (a) Introduction to Disability – 25 questions; (b) Child Development and Learning – 20 questions; (c) Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 – 20 questions; (d) Computer and Information Technology – 15 questions; (e) General Information related to Uttar Pradesh – 20 questions.
- Stage 2 – Qualifying Examination (Sign Language / Braille Script Proficiency Test): Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written exam marks will appear for a qualifying proficiency test in Sign Language and/or Braille Script as applicable to the post. This test is qualifying in nature. Posts not requiring Sign Language/Braille Script knowledge will be filled based on written exam only.
- Sign Language Test: (i) Text to Sign Language Conversion – 20+ functional words, minimum 10 correct, 8 minutes; (ii) Sign Language to Text Conversion – 20+ functional words, minimum 10 correct, 8 minutes.
- Braille Script Test: (i) Text to Braille Writing – 150-200 words Hindi text, minimum 60 words correctly written, 10 minutes; (ii) Braille to Text Writing – 80-100 words Braille text, minimum 40 words correctly read and written, 10 minutes.
- Final Selection: Based on merit in the written examination, subject to qualifying the Stage 2 proficiency test where applicable.

- Candidates must visit the official website upsssc.gov.in and click on the relevant advertisement under the Live Advertisement Segment on the Homepage.
- Login using PET-2025 Registration Number via OTP sent to registered mobile/email.
- Personal details registered in PET-2025 will be auto-displayed. Select the desired post(s) and fill in educational qualification details.
- Upload/verify photo and signature (auto-fetched from PET-2025 registration).
- Fill in preference of posts and other details including preferential qualifications if any.
- Read and accept the Declaration by ticking all checkboxes and entering the verification code, then click Save and Submit.
- Pay the application fee online via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan.
- After successful fee payment/adjustment, the application will be auto-submitted. Download and print the application form.
- If fee adjustment is pending, use ‘Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification’ option on the Applicant Segment of the website.

Other Important Information
- Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and have been issued a PET-2025 Score Card are eligible to apply for this Main Examination.
- Candidates with zero or negative (absolute or normalized) score in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted for the Main Exam.
- Candidates marked as ‘Under Investigation (UI)’ or ‘Provisional’ in PET-2025 results may apply provisionally; their shortlisting and selection will be subject to the outcome of the Commission’s investigation.
- Only online applications are accepted via upsssc.gov.in. No other mode of application will be entertained.
- Reservation: SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Women/Ex-Servicemen/Freedom Fighter Dependants/Outstanding Sportspersons/Divyangjan – as per UP Government rules. 4% horizontal reservation for Divyangjan in Group A, B, C, D posts.
- EWS candidates must possess an EWS certificate issued between 01-04-2026 and 27-04-2026, based on income of FY 2025-26, valid for FY 2026-27.
- Age relaxation: 5 years for state government employees; additional relaxation for SC/ST and other notified categories as per rules.
- Date of birth as per High School (Class 10) certificate is the only valid proof of date of birth.
- Candidates serving in Central/State Government must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
- If the exam is held in multiple shifts/days, normalization of scores will be done as per the Commission’s established procedure (Notification No. 42/05/Vigya. Anu. (11)/2019 dated 22 May 2019).
- Application fee is non-refundable. Fee must be adjusted/reconciled by 04-05-2026 (within 7 days after the last date of application).
- Candidates can modify only permitted fields (correspondence address, EWS/horizontal reservation category, mandatory/preferential qualification details, marital status) up to 04-05-2026.
- The UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act-2024 (dated 06 August 2024) is applicable to this examination.
- All notifications and updates will be published on the official website upsssc.gov.in only. No individual correspondence will be made by the Commission.
- Preferential qualifications: Candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum of 2 years, or have obtained the NCC ‘B’ Certificate, will be given preference in case of equal merit.
