Selection Procedure

- Screening Test (Computer Based Test): 100 marks, 100 multiple choice objective type questions, duration 2 hours. Candidates securing 40% and above will be short-listed in ratio 1:10 of available vacancies for Written Examination. Marks in Screening Test are NOT added to final merit.
- Written Examination: Three papers, each carrying 100 marks, duration 3 hours each.

- Training: Selected candidates will be designated as ‘Trainee Judicial Officers’ and must undergo 1 year of intensive training at the Judicial Academy (paid 50% of Civil Judge salary). After training, they undergo 1 year of structured Law Clerkship (6 months under Principal District/Sessions Judges or Higher Judicial Services members; 6 months under Hon’ble Judge, High Court of AP). Regular appointment is made only after satisfactory evaluation.
- Examination Centers: Guntur, Kurnool, Rajahmundry (Rajamahendravaram), Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam. Applicants must opt for any 3 centers in order of preference. High Court reserves right to allot any center.
- Reservation: Vertical reservations for BC (A,B,C,D,E), EWS, SC, ST and horizontal reservation for Women and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per AP State Judicial (Service & Cadre) Rules, 2026.
- BC Non-Creamy Layer: Latest certificate issued in 2025 or 2026 required; failing which candidature considered under Open Category only.
- EWS: Latest EWS Certificate issued in 2025 or 2026 by Tahsildar; gross annual family income below Rs. 8,00,000/-.
- Application Fee is non-refundable even if application is rejected or notification is cancelled.
- No TA/DA will be paid for Screening Test, Written Examination, or Viva Voce.
