Selection Procedure

- Selection will be based on a Weighted Merit List: 70% weightage to ITI marks and 30% weightage to High School marks.

- Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must submit a medical certificate from a competent medical officer before joining training. Appointment is subject to meeting health standards under the Apprentices Act 1961.
- Ineligible Candidates: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training after ITI, have one year or more work experience, or are currently enrolled in any regular course are NOT eligible.
- Candidates who completed ITI as a private candidate are NOT eligible.
- Candidates whose previous apprenticeship was terminated and the gap between termination date and BHEL joining date is less than 3 months are NOT eligible (as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2025, notified on 11 September 2025).
- Reservation: SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, and PwD candidates will get reservation as per rules. OBC certificate must be dated on or after 01.04.2025 and in the format prescribed by Government of India. EWS certificate must be for financial year 2026-27.
- BHEL Employee Wards: Dependents (spouse, son, daughter) of BHEL Haridwar employees (serving/retired/deceased) get 3 years additional relaxation in ITI passing year, subject to online contract approval by RDSDE. They must also submit ‘Form for Employee Ward’.
- No TA/DA: No travel allowance or dearness allowance will be paid at the time of joining.
- Accommodation: Selected candidates must arrange their own food and accommodation during training.
- No Employment Guarantee: Completion of apprenticeship training at BHEL Haridwar does not confer any right to employment in BHEL.
