Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Selection will be based on fulfilling the conditions of the notification.
- Merit list will be drawn based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination.
- In case of a tie in marks at the selection stage, the candidate older in age will be preferred.
- Candidates selected as apprentices will have to fulfil the minimum physical fitness standards/parameters as specified in the Apprentices Act, Clause 4 of Apprenticeship Rule 1992 and amendments thereof.
- Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Government recognised academic institutions located in the state of Tamil Nadu will only be considered for selection. In case of non-availability of candidates from Tamil Nadu for any branch, vacancies will be filled with other candidates.

- Click “Register” from the menu, read the instructions, accept by clicking “I agree”, fill in the registration form and submit.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered email ID and mobile number. Create a new password using the OTP.
- Login to the portal using the new password and fill in the application form.
- Upload scanned copies of: latest colour passport size photograph, signature, 10th Standard mark sheet, consolidated mark sheet of prescribed educational qualification, Community Certificate (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PWD as applicable), Aadhaar card, candidate’s profile home page screenshot of Govt. Portal (https://nats.education.gov.in), and Bank passbook front page (Aadhaar seeded and DBT enabled).

- Duration of Training: One year from the date of joining as per Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973.
- Stipend: Rs. 12,300/- per month (Consolidated) for the entire training duration.
- Facilities: Subsidized food and Hostel facility available.
- Reservation: SC – 19%, ST – 1%, OBC (NCL) – 27%, EWS – 10%, Physically Challenged – 4%.
- Eligibility – Year of Passing: Candidates who completed their full-time Degree course in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are only eligible.
- Ineligible Candidates: Candidates who completed Degree through Distance Learning/Part Time/Correspondence/Sandwich courses are not eligible. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any other establishment are not eligible. Students who have completed Post Graduate qualification (including integrated PG course) are not eligible. Students with work experience of one year or more are not eligible.
- NATS Registration: Candidates must be registered in MHRD NATS 2.0 New Portal (https://nats.education.gov.in). Only candidates with BOAT/NATS 2.0 Student Enrolment No. will be considered.
- No TA/DA: No travel allowance or daily allowance will be paid for certificate verification or joining.
- No Employment Obligation: Upon completion of Apprenticeship, BHEL shall have no obligation to offer employment, nor can an apprentice claim right for employment.
