Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Candidates must register on www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and select MCGM before attending the Recruitment Fair.
- Selection will be based on marks obtained in the last/final semester of the ITI examination (maximum marks basis).
- Social and parallel reservations (Women 30%, Ex-Serviceman 15%, Project-affected 5%, Sports 5%, Earthquake-affected 2%, Orphans 1%, Divyang/PwD 4%, EWS 10%, OBC/SBC 10%) will be applied as per Government rules.
- In case of equal marks, preference will be given to the older candidate (date of birth seniority).
- A combined merit list of eligible candidates will be prepared and published on the MCGM portal.
- Selected candidates will be called for document verification. After verification, an online offer will be issued via the online system.
- After acceptance of the offer within 07 days, an online Model Contract of Apprenticeship Training will be executed.
- If the offer is not accepted within 07 days, the selection will be cancelled and the next candidate on the merit list will be considered.
- After online contract, candidates will be sent to the respective department/hospital for medical examination and character verification before commencement of training.

Other Important Information
- Training Duration: One year at various MCGM departments/divisions/hospitals.
- Apprentices Act: Recruitment is under the Apprentices Act 1961. As per Section 22 of the Act, it is NOT mandatory for MCGM to absorb apprentices into permanent service after training. Selected candidates must give an undertaking that they will not claim permanent employment rights.
- Venue: Jamsaheb Macadam Government Industrial Training Institute, Govandi, near S.T. Workshop, Kirol Road, Vidyavihar (West), Mumbai 400 086.
- Shift Duty: Selected apprentices may be required to work in three shifts as per MCGM requirements.
- No Accommodation: MCGM will not provide residential accommodation during the training period.
- Character Certificate: Must be submitted within 2 months from the date of commencement of training from the concerned police station.
- Disability (PwD) Reservation: 4% reservation for persons with disabilities. Minimum 40% disability certificate from competent authority is required. Candidates applying under PwD quota must consider the physical requirements of the post.
- Orphan Reservation: 1% reservation for orphans as per Maharashtra Government GR dated 06.04.2023.
- EWS Reservation: 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Sections as per GR dated 12.02.2019 and 31.05.2021.
- OBC/SBC (SEBC) Reservation: 10% reservation as per Maharashtra Act No. 16 of 2024 dated 26.02.2024, subject to pending court orders.
- Part-time Degree Holders (Educated Unemployed): 10% parallel reservation is NOT applicable for apprentice posts.
- Candidates from other states: Backward class candidates who have migrated from other states to Maharashtra will NOT be considered for reserved posts.
- Non-Creamy Layer: Applicable for OBC/SBC and other backward class candidates (except SC/ST). Certificate must be valid during the selection process.
- Sports Quota: 5% reservation for sportspersons. Certificate must be verified by the Divisional Deputy Director, Sports & Youth Services before applying.
- Right to Cancel: MCGM reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process at any stage without prior notice.
