Selection Procedure

- Stage 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type paper with 100 questions (1 mark each), duration 120 minutes. Two sections: (a) Domain Knowledge – 60 marks; (b) General Aptitude (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness & Current Affairs) – 40 marks. No negative marking. Conducted in English only. Tentative month: September 2026.
- Stage 2 – Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT): Candidates qualifying CBT as per cut-off marks will be called for SPT at the respective refinery locations (Mumbai/Kochi). SPT is of qualifying nature only. Candidates must also produce required documents/certificates for verification at this stage.
- Stage 3 – Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to candidates meeting BPCL’s Medical Fitness norms and standards as per Pre-Employment Medical Examination standards. Candidature remains provisional until appointment.

- Placement: Although posts are for Mumbai Refinery and Kochi Refinery, BPCL reserves the right to post/transfer candidates to any existing or future Refinery/Marketing locations, offices or projects.
- Higher Qualifications Not Allowed: Candidates with A.M.I.E., B.E., B.Tech., or similar professional degrees are not eligible.
- Mode of Study: Diplomas obtained through Part-time, Correspondence, or Distance Learning modes are not eligible.
- Lateral Entry Diploma: Eligible if percentage is calculated based on aggregate marks of 4 semesters.
- Age Reckoning Date: 01.07.2026. Proof of age: Matriculation Certificate issued by Board of Secondary Education only.
- Experience Reckoning Date: 01.07.2026. Apprenticeship under Apprenticeship Act, 1961 (minimum 1 year) in relevant discipline will be considered as post-qualification experience.
