- Written Competitive Examination:
- Paper 1 (General Hindi): 50 MCQs, 100 marks, 1 hour duration. Minimum qualifying marks: 30. Each correct answer: +2 marks; each wrong answer: -0.2 marks. Marks NOT counted in merit.
- Paper 2 (General Studies): 100 MCQs, 300 marks, 2 hours duration. Topics: General Knowledge & Current Affairs, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics, Mental Ability. Each correct answer: +3 marks; each wrong answer: -0.3 marks.
- Based on written exam marks, candidates equal to 6 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for interview.
- Interview (Viva-Voce): Total marks: 50. Assesses overall personality and suitability for the post of Forest Range Officer. Interview marks will be added to written exam marks for final merit.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Conducted as per Bihar Forest Range Officer Service Rules 2013, Rule 8(4). Qualifying in nature (no marks). Standards:
- Men (all categories): 25 km walk within 4 hours.
- Women (all categories): 14 km walk within 4 hours.
- Physical Measurement Standards (Height & Chest):
- Unreserved/BC/EBC/SC Men: Min. 163 cm height; Chest: 79 cm (unexpanded), 84 cm (expanded), min. 5 cm expansion.
