Selection Procedure

- Written Competitive Examination: Applications will be scrutinized and eligible candidates will be called for a written exam. The exam will be at Matric (10th) level, consisting of 100 objective-type questions (100 marks) in a 2-hour paper covering Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and General Knowledge/Current Affairs. Candidates scoring less than 30% will be disqualified for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The written exam is only qualifying for PET; it is not the basis for the final merit list. Normalized scores (Equi-Percentile Method) will be used for multi-session exams.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Based on written exam scores, candidates (5 times the vacancies per category) will be called for PET. PET carries 100 marks total:
- Running (50 marks): Men: 1 mile (1.6 km) in max 6 minutes; Women: 1 km in max 5 minutes. Marks awarded based on time taken.
- Shot Put (25 marks): Men: 16 lb shot, minimum 16 feet; Women: 12 lb shot, minimum 12 feet. Marks awarded based on distance.
- High Jump (25 marks): Men: minimum 4 feet; Women: minimum 3 feet. Marks awarded based on height.
- Merit List: Final merit list will be prepared based on total marks obtained in PET (Running + High Jump + Shot Put). Tie-breaking: by date of birth (older candidate ranked higher), then by educational qualification, then by name in English alphabetical order as per 10th certificate.
